Marantec garage remote reset programming & review

reviewing this brand of marantec garage door opener model 4500. if your renting out homes, do yourself a favor and spend more on a better unit, instead of paying a maintenance person or repair personnel to keep on having to come out and keep fixing it.
here I show how to cycle through the programming system and reset the remote when it stops working.
You can only program one remote through this method (as shown in video). To program any additional remotes, you will need to use the pin method. There's other videos on KZbin that show that.
The purpose of this video is to show others, that are having problems with their garage, what the problem is, so they don't get lost trying to figure it out. If it's not the safety sensors that stop the garage when something is in the way, then it's most likely just this common issue. Just reset the garage signal.
Also, for some reason, some garages may stop working with the remote if the switch on the wall is pressed (maybe a logic board fault?). If you only use the remote, and never use the wall switch to open and close the garage, then you won't have to keep doing this over and over. Also, holding the wall switch button down works better than just pressing it quickly.

This was perfect! My kid lost the remote shortly after buying the house... 5 years ago. Now having a remote is awesome! The instructions that came with it only covered copying the code from another remote not starting with no remote.

For the second remote, once you have once programmed, you need to use the 3-pin connector that came with the unit and share the code. That's how you program multiple remotes without removing the codes from the others. It's dumb, but it works. You should not have to ever go back to reprogram this method unless you have a surge or something that cuases the unit to reset.

I just moved in to a new home and have only one remote (and no connector tool). Is there a way you know of to reprogram it so that if there are other remotes out there, they can't be used on my door? If I program the remote I have as shown on this video, does it get a new code each time - overwriting the old code? Thank you!

If you reprogram it and have your new remote working then it deletes the other remotes.

Yes, there is a connector that you use to plug the first programmed remote into the second. If you try to program the second remote directly to the garage, then it will take the place of the first. In other words, whatever remote is remotely programmed directly to the garage will be the main remote. Any additional remote must be programmed to the main remote by a pin that let's the remotes plug into each other. I'm pretty sure you can buy the connector online for cheap. It's just a metal pin plug basically.

@@lastnametea your remote isn't supposed to blink. The garage door opener does. Maybe you need a new battery? Or did you drop it in water or something? These remotes are pretty durable. I'm not sure what you're trying to do, or how you diagnosed it as a signal maker/ receiver

On mine the light blinks when open its really annoying. There's a way to program it but after a week it blinks again. Do you know how to fix this. On the wiring there are numbers whoever installed it only connected the first 4 and cut the rest i don't know if thats the problem

It sounds like the sensor needs to be aligned. Have you checked the safety sensors that Keep the door from closing if something is blocking the doorway?
