picking one of these up later today, was repaired by a good tech 2 years ago, can't wait. Back in 1974 I bought a new 2220 just before starting college. Gave it to my sister in 1978 after I graduated and bought better equipment. Should have kept that 2220.

Man, you are going to love it! The 2265 is a perfect example of everything Marantz was back in the day. Good luck with her!

Jus got a 1530 from a thrift store for $15, only a wisp of smoke, no big fire so I figure I'm doing good. Been watching these videos an I think I understand... power of positive thinking. I got this, pretty sure I know what a "cap" is, one them round doodads.

I have a 2275 and I absolutely love it.. it's due to get recapped though, had one fail and cause a hum, i just replaced that one and I really should do the rest. I think I may have a similar problem with the protection relay, though the sound continues after i hear a click... and to make my troubleshooting life harder, it only does it a couple times a month

My 2265 had a 60Hz-ish hum with some harmonics 120Hz, etc. I replaced the filter caps with no change. I had finally found it to be the relay contacts were bad. So I replaced the relay and all the bulbs, since most were burnt out. I didn't change all the other caps. It sounds really good on my Paradigm Studio 100v3 towers, but I will be checking this DC offset, just out of curiosity. Here's a video of me checking the relay. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJiriY2ApdiViasfeature=shared

I bought a non working Sansui 9090DB many years back. I always liked to tinker with radios so I thought I would give this a try. I got it to work by simply replacing a fuse, but the right channel would cut out when it warmed up. Took me a couple of weeks but finally found the problem. A hair line crack in the circuit board. Who would have thought.

This was the 2nd New Marantz I purchased. It was almost half of list price, $319.00, but it was close to the last production run. Generally these ran 499.00 to 549.00 when it first came out, great machine , better than the 'b' version in my opinion. These were made 1974-late,1976, but sold until about early 78 as mid wattage sales started to tapper off, the 2285 was the hot item or the 2325 is you could handle the price. Best sounding under 100 watt I have ever owned.

Nice !!! You mentioned that a crack on the board was the problem, I assume an electric fracture on the PCB was triggering the relay ?

Would have liked to seen the crack in the board you fixed. Ironically, my 20 yr old HK has been acting up, removed cover and inspected, low and behold crack in board.

Beautiful receiver and awesome job on the restoration! However, you said the THD from this unit was 0.3% but the brochure you showed listed it at 0.08%. 🤔

Sorry , wrong 2265, the 2264 was 75/76, the 2265B was 77-79, the 2265 have about 10k made in various production runs. The 2265b had about 55,000 once the 3 years of production. My first new power full Recievers. Paid 319.00 plus Minnesota state tax. Sold in 91 , an idiot for selling. Loved this reciever
