Wow, you got something there that many drawled over back when we didn't have the $$$ for higher-end stuff. You did a good with this piece. I'm really happy to see all the extra care taken in making it look and sound brand new, a real plus for the owner. He'll never forget it and always appreciate your efforts and work for many years! There were many great flagship models available between 75 & 80'. I love mine and still use both!

Nice. I still have a Quadradial 4 Marantz in the attic. It worked when I put it there 20 years ago. Anyway, it is a rear channel unit designed to run a separate amp for front end sound. I think it was rated for 20 watts per channel for rear channels only. I do not remember the model of the unit and I'm not going up in the attic to check... lol. Thanks for the video on this classic unit.

you made it look brand new fantastic repair glad to see the refresher on the relay contacts i always used a finger nail file in automotive applications got the idea from like when we did it in points on a car but should have realized the points have an arch going across them not like a relay and the deoxit is another good tip i had an old Sansui and every now and again i would spray wd40 after taking the knob off into the volume switch for static it would last for a month or so and would have to reapply i love the old receivers nothing like the old school stereo units with left and right channels instead of the 5 and seven channel ones of today

hi norcal, great job and great video, but you did not run alignment procedures, idle current and offset voltage checking even though they sounds ok but at least you should measure them? more power to you, from toronto......................

Well Lookie here.. If Marantz still provide all what this Amplifier came with, and all of the components "Spare Parts can still be sourced then this is the Brand I will actively seek should my 9.2/7.2/5.2 Channel Yamaha Receiver be unrepairable, Mind you it would also add Yamaha to the increasing long list of manufacturers that support their products for a very limited time being around 2 years minimum 5 years tops. Cant wait for the Right to repair Bill to pass forcing manufactures to release properly supported gear, which BTW I am happy to pay for knowing it will be serviceable..

**Addendum** On testing 5:35 "Right Channel treble/mid treble did sound lacking to me" and as you discovered via the relay dry/partially opened joints/contacts can act like capacitors ergo effect the response curve

Great video! I have the 2230 model and it is scratchy on the volume control. I want to get the de-oxit in there and the lights are fine but the LED I am sure would be brighter. Thank you so much for sharing all the steps you took. 👍🙏

I have one, I prefer paper. It removes much less of the gold from the gold plated contacts.

Hi. Thanks for the great class. Congratulations on the high resolution video. What I would like to ask is about my 2275, it has 2SD733/2SB697 transistor pairs on the outputs, they are working fine, but are they correct for this Marantz model? I also have 2 pairs of transistors 2SA747A and 2SC1116A, will they be suitable for model 2275? Thanks.

Hifiengine.com has the service manual. I don't know about those subs without looking up the datasheets and comparing the numbers. The originals were 2SD382 and 2SB537 according the the manual.
