OH MY GOD!...I OWNED THAT MONSTER AND I WISHED LIKE HELL I KEPT IT LOL...Awesome Rosie I scored that model from a customer at Oakville Audio where I worked back in 1999 , 40 watts ×4 in Quad or 100 watts ×2 In stereo ...absolutely one powerful amplifier extremely high current. ..SANKEN output stages are Sanyo who knew ? SANKEN AKA SANKYO AKA SANYO

I have the very same receiver and gave it a thorough cleaning a year ago , which improved the sound quite a it. Mine came in a nice walnut case - I had to restore that from the ground up . Also I replaced the paper behind the tuning dials - now I have the blueish lights back (old paper gets yellow brownish and then the lights appear to be greenish ). I may give it another deep clean this spring . I have 4 speakers hooked up to it and it sounds great.

I had a Realistic quadraphonic receiver back in the 70s it was the only one I had in my life time,but it was very enjoyable to listen to.

Remembering that it was a big deal back then. Friend of mine had one of these and KSHE95 radio in St. Louis did some broadcasting in 4 channel. Can't tell what year exactly. To tell the truth, I didn't think it was all that great, but it did sound good. My friend's set up was really nice though. The set up & my friend are long gone. Marantz is a quality product and sounds excellent with the big 15" woofers. So glad that you are revitalizing these stereos. A very nice addition to any home.

Great video! Thanks so much for doing it. It's a real help. I just bought an identical model for $300.00 and have not received it yet and was advertised to be in good condition, but not excellent condition. I'll probably watch thins video a few times and see what I can do and what I'm going to need "the shop" to do.

P.S. Looking inside, one can see that this means business. That pwr transformer is huge. Put a small fan next to it when operating for cooling. I have to with my Zenith tube set. There have been house fires set by these ( big stereo units) if not properly placed in the home.

Very cool. I had no idea that there was such a thing. My dad also used to repair old radios. This setup is also a really good backdrop for videos. Do you think recording videos of your daily life motivates you to do more? I'm thinking if I started doing this to motivate myself and document my life it would encourage me to do more. Not to get views, but just for memories and motivation.
