I remember a few years back when Filia - sorry if I spelled her name wrong - did the 24 hour race with the family - there was no great fuss over that, was there? She did fantastic and Rainier did an equally great job. Yes he got an owie from falling and that was sad but he finished what he set out to do :)

When I saw you on the news I thought they were celebrating Rainer! I have been a long time follower and supporter. I was sad to see all the criticism but I’m glad that Rainers story will be shared, it’s so inspiring to see such a young kid do something I wouldn’t dream of doing! For your followers around the world, how can we watch this!

Let's see; Well fed kids, strong opinionated kids, caring parents, nice home, lots of love, out in the public and well socialized, strong parental encouragement....Yep thats a recipe for the media and authorities to ripe you apart and deem you bad parents. STAND FIRM & FIGHT FOR TOGETHER!!!!!

When my mother in law was training for her first marathon last year, she texted us for prayer because she didn't know if she could actually go through with it. I sent her the marathon video from when Filia was 6. She was very inspired, and went on to run 18 miles of the marathon. 🥰 I can't wait to watch this one!

I truly hope nobody resorts to bullying, cause that is absolutely not ok. However, if you are going to put your family on social media and document it, expect ppl to have opinions about it rather supportive or not.

I've been watching this family for years. I've always been totally amazed by them, their accomplishments, their transparency, and the thought they put into decision making. I'm proud of them....wait, I'm allowed to be proud of them even though I don't really know them, right? Yep, thought so....:)

God bless you all. I've watched you all for year's, you only encourage your kids, they are the ones that see your drive to do great things and I believe they are the ones that make their own choices, to do these things with you.❤❤❤ Great Family 🙂👍🇺🇸

My father would pressure me to run long distances and then I really didn't have the power to say no because my dad was a manipulative passive aggressive jerk. I consider it massive abuse and haven't forgiven him to this day...... Kids don't choose this... they want the approval of their parents/fathers and don't know how to say NO, claim boundaries, or stand up for themselves.....

Sorry that happened to you. Is it possible you’re projecting your dad onto me?

Keep going guys ! So glad you aren’t hiding after all these people, who don’t know your family, find it necessary to make judgments and harsh comments about a child actually setting goals, reaching them, getting outside, being active, training, and experiencing all the emotions that come with it !! Good job Rainier !!

As a kid who was dragged on long physical thru hikes and walks and ached the next day and still had to carry on (not even relevant since he wasn’t dragged)I thank my parents everyday for those experiences. Even if I didn’t know at the time… Being physical and pushing ourselves and seeing the world this way is literally what humans are meant to do.. good for you guys!

Oh, man. This should be interesting to see, hear, and watch, what others are saying about this. Seeing Filia ran inspired me to want to run a marathon. I just never got off my lazy butt. xD One day! Edit: I love Rainer's answer at the very end. Him laughing/smiling at the end just shows me it's his answer, not coerced.

We live in a sick world. So sick that people dare to judge as bad parents people Who love their Kids, live 24/7 with them, teach them to achieve their goals, and let them grow. This Is what parenthood should be. Instead the most of bipeds don t give a shit about theri own Kids, let school and teachers and politicians decide for them. Go Rainier ♥️ go

I find it amazing how your 6 year old ran a marathon. I’m a pretty fit person myself and I don’t think I’d be able to run that distance. Plus haters will be haters. Rainier running a marathon is both amazing and inspiring to get out there and exercise.

Lol I knew it. That’s exactly what I commented on IG about Rainier’s own thoughts when this all went down. Gee when you watch someone since they were born and are a mom of your own you might know something. All these people who don’t know shit about this family are just popping off at the mouth. Time to go back to your safe spaces now.

My doctors all told me back when I had my children, to NEVER hold them back!! To say that Rainier didn't finish is a crock of shit! To ridicule his parents is beyond reason. They were aware of everything he did, and how he felt. They were in tune to his every need. He trained for this! He wanted to RUN WITH US FAMILY! To be so lucky ass to have your whole family together too do anything, let alone run a marathon is miraculous! It's the jealous adults who've never tried anything difficult in their lives that speak out against this. I can't do this, so certainly a 6 year old can't. The word can't is not in our vocabulary in our family. WE CAN DI ANYTHING WE PUT OUR MINDS TO. APPARENTLY, SO CAN THIS FAMILY. MORE POWER TO YOU ALL OF YOU!! YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS ARE INSPIRING FOR ALL. KEEP DOING WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY. NO CHILD ABUSE HERE. JUST PEOPLE, WHO DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT KIDS, LOVE, FAMILY.

Do you know the history of the marathon? The messenger died when he finally got to the front to deliver the news of the enemy forces. I worked on a documentary crew for the Flying Pig one year. One of the years that a full grown otherwise healthy male runner died after he crossed the finish line. I saw others being taken away in wheelchairs and passing out. As parents, it is our job to protect our children from harm. If a child says, "I want to touch that hot burning stove, Dad," do you let him do that too? I'm all for different parenting styles, but this seems like exploitation instead of keeping your kiddos safe.

Speak that truth Ranier. Speak it loud. Keep shifting that paradigm. There will always be people who get uncomfortable when you defy their idea of what box you are supposed to be in. I hope you always have your "What box?" mindset.

I’m sorry but I don’t find any inspiration here. No hate, maybe you thought you were doing what’s good. But a lot of people have explained why it’s not quite right. As parents you should teach your kid what’s the right thing. But at the very least you taught him to break rules. That the rules don’t apply to him. You let him run even tho he shouldn’t have been allowed to run at that race because of the age limit rule. And did you even do any training to build up to the marathon? Even most adults have to do that. Maybe instead of doubling down on this, you should instead try to look at the situation from another view point.
