In case you both didn't notice that each song is a grade. Strawberry Shortcake is Track 7. Track 7 = 6th Grade, which means Crybaby would be about 11 years old. That's usually when girls bodies start to change! It makes the song even stronger knowing how old she is in the storyline. I hope you are able to watch the film because you can see the full story of how Crybaby goes through all the grades and how each track shows what the age goes through.

@pevrlescent track 1 starts with kindergarten so if you go in order track 7 would be 6th grade

In a culture pushing toxic masculinity, as necessary, Melanie is calling out what we deny in our culture that hurts our child development

When I was young something happened between me and my cousins (I was like 4ish) and the parents said that boys will be boys and blew it off like it was nothing which really messed with me and my mum, she believed it wasn't a big deal since they weren't acting like it was (she realised now that I wasn't and they downplayed it when it shouldn't be)

I love that she include all sectors of life, not only man and school, but how at some age on the life of a woman in home they also start pushing for them to start shaving or waxing, or they push girls to dress a certain way, etc. That it's not only man, but also school and even homes, families

Realmente me encanta como ella deconstruye a su papá me hace tener mucha fe en nuestras nuevas generaciones y que el lo entienda es sorprendente

Thank you for reacting this song :D. I made a post for you guys to hear this song and it's nice you guys heard it. The song is just so awesome in both meaning and beat. Every teen should feel secure with the body THEY want, not insecure trying to please others or to try to achieve an unrealistic body type. And no one should feel like it's *their fault* if they are being harassed when it is the *harasser* who should be at fault when they just want to look like themselves. Thanks for listening :)

I wish you guys hadn’t done these all in one day so you’d have known by now about the K-12 film that you should have watched instead, for the context of the album as a whole. And then just chopped it up into individual pieces to upload

I'm a male, and I agree that the men should be taught not to be predatory towards women. Its illogical to tell a young girl it's her fault she's being harassed because of what she's wearing.
