I own the whole MAB line. There is an enormous and eternal cumin note in Ganymede Extrait. It is a challenging fragrance, especially in professional settings. I recommend the EDP.

I bought my husband the Ganymede original and I liked it so much I kept spraying it on myself. He told me to leave it alone 😂 (of course, he has five fragrances and I a collection) so I’ve got myself a bottle of the extrait 🙂 I love both 👍

The dry down is amazing in the Extrait!!! And I'm talking from the 6th hour onwards, I'm amazed how good it is, just love it, I thought it would be redundant but the dry down changed my mind, this might be one of my favorite DNA's in fragrances. For me in descending order: B683, Ganymede, Ganymede Extrait and B683 Extrait, I like B683 more than Ganymede, it's addictive, but I really love them all, I haven't tried Encelade, I will. Excellent Review of house. Sadly, the only one I really love is the one you ranked last.😢 Encelade is a beauty to me. For whatever reason my body chemistry rejects the others. Maybe timing is off, headspace not right for this blend, something not working. I own Gany, B683 and Encelade. Who knows? Anyway enjoy the day. Cheers! 🎉

No reason to be sad. A lot of people, including myself, really like Encelade. However it's polarizing scent, not everyone likes it. However if you like it, use it. I even got a compliment for it, and that is rare here.

Bois Imperial is very similar to Gannymead and a fraction of the cost....same perfumer. Definitely try it.

Thought it would be more different but it's really close to the OG, it's as good in every season as the OG, the immortelle note has that sandy/Mineral vibe that shines in high heat

This was a total scrubber for me. After 2 hours I started to smell Ganymede. But I found the fragrance to be overly spicy and off-putting. I love the B683s both more than Ganymede. I have yet to smell last year's release.

Luckyscent included a sample and the edp has a whiff of what reminds me of a spice that resembles a hint of body odor. It’s not the fruit so the extrait has to smell even worst for me 😢. I had high hopes for this one. I’ll revisit my decant in a few months and see if it’s still a no for me.

I’ve only sampled Ganymede and I liked it but I feel it’s very reminiscent of Amouage beloved man. Does anyone else feel the same? I’m going to buy another sample so I can do a side by side with beloved man which I own and love. I’m sure there will be many differences once compared.

For a vetiver fan like yourself I would think Encelade would rank higher. Do you think other similar scents do it better? Is that it. If so what event in the vein of Encelade works better for you? TY Sebastian.

No I think there are several other fragrances that came before Encelade that remind me of it? I don't know why I don't hate it but it's not top on the list! of MAB fragrances if that makes sense? :)

Fair review, I kind of share same feelings. However I will be more harsh, for me Ganymede Extrait was first real miss from MAB. ➡ You take original Ganymede, take out the freshness, add some meat spices and immortelle from HdP 1740. IDK, smells weird to me. Someone mentioned middle eastern spice bazar LOL. Giving the price for Extrait, it's a pass. Definitely sample if you like the original, however have realistic expectations.

I think Bois Imperial is like a cross between Ganymede and B683. I’d say try it but it’s quite similar to the original Ganymede so try that first!!

Discovery Set arived with all 5 fragrance 2,5 ml. Ganymede is the best. Extrait of ganymed smels like a Wine barrel and extrait of B g83 is like a plum spirit Alcohol home Made drink.

encelade is the best hands down, then ganymede edp, then b683 extrait de parfum. the new ganymede extrait is not my favorite but I must try in winter and see how it smells, too spicy, not good spicy either. not enough leather/suede.

I’m sad to report. Ganymede is the ONLY compliment getter I have in my collection. No idea what I’m doing wrong. But Ganymede is phenomenal. All of MAB’s fragrances are unbelievably gorgeous

Ganymede Extrait is the definition of a PROPER flanker; the DNA is there and the denser notes are intensified given that its an extrait. I understand that owning both might be redundant but fans of the line like myself will probably try to get the extrait if the budget is there. Plus i think that if you jump straight to extrait, the EDP will be a logical purchase as its the masterpiece.

Story short, Extrait is dark and heavier Ganymede. Little of original DNA. Newer batches of Ganymede lost their performance. Now we can only talk about how great they were.

The worst thing about experiencing and owning Ganymede before trying any others, is that you’re almost guaranteed to be let down. Anything after Ganymede will not be a stunner, even if it’s a great fragrance. It’s like hearing only Dark Side of the Moon and comparing it with Pipers at the Gates of Dawn. Pipers is good but if all you know is DSOTM, you’re not going to think it’s all that good
