Marc is close, he has the range, probably a better range, and he sounds like Freddie in the sense that it's the same baritone/tenor tone, whatever. What's missing is the feeling, emotion that Freddie imparted. Probably because it is not a Marc song. It's still great but different. Marc is like Freddies son if he had one. We are dam lucky to have Marc carry on.

I understand why Queen doesn’t want Marc fronting them, because there was already a Freddie and he was a legend so no one can take the place of that. BUT, what the band isn’t understanding is that everyone loves Freddie’s voice so much, the opportunity to hear it again in a live situation is so captivating. It’s all about the love of that voice. No one would think Marc is trying to take Freddie’s place, least of all Marc. I think they should give it a try.

I saw Queen live in 1980. Fantastic!!! I just started listening to Marc Martel. OMGoodness, closing my eyes and listening to Don't Stop Me Now is as if Freddie were resurrected and singing right next to me. Goosebumps!!! After hearing Queen + AL at "The Queen's" Platinum Jubilee celebration, I don't think I'd waste my money, however, if Marc Martel was doing the main vocals, I'd be in the front row. Have to say that Marc's video was uniquely brilliant for this song.

Personally, for me, Adam is actually a good fit for queen. Sure, it might not be Freddie, but all they want to do is to- 1. Have fun 2. Keep the Queen Trilogy alive. 3. Make their fans proud. Queen chose Adam because he has more of a Freddie kind of vibe to him than Marc, sure, he doesn't have the voice, or looks, but his talent, personality, and stage performances are more of a Freddie lookalike than Marc.

I understand your point. We also know that this guy is more than an impersonator. It happens that he sounds like him, and he learned how to impersonate him too but he's not just that. I went to their concert in York and the guy does not cover Queen and impersonate Freddie. He's an amazing singer, and happens to be the best ever impersonating Freddie but he rocked the songs and lived them I don't know if it could be compared to Queen, I can only say that it was a HUGE experience to me. Of course it would be better with the ones that made that music. Yes true and a lot of people act like he is imitating freddie by trying to sound like him but that is how he naturally sounds. Marc’s voice is much more breathy than Freddie’s voice though.

@Black Dog Dude, what the hell you talking about... You can find his old recordings and it is VERY similar to Freddie. Plus, everybody is trying to Immitate Freddie, but nobody gets even close. It's because of his vocal ABILITIES and probably facial structure is why he sounds like Freddie. If can imitate Freddies voice in a good or close way, that's HIS VOCAL CHORDS. that's HIS voice. So yes he sounds like Freddie. It's too much to say he sounds nothing like him. You can find a Marc's song from '99 and he has a bit of tone and distortion like Freddie. He won the contest for Queen Tribute because everyone around him TOLD him that he sounds like Freddie. So check your facts mate. I get your personal opinion, but please do not mix subjective hearing with facts! It's subjective how much percent he sounds like Mercury. But what's not subjective is that he does sound like Freddie , and that it is really Marc's voice. You CAN'T deny that, that's something called facts. And he is not imitating him, he just did reasarch so he can give us the best performance possible. You gotta separate imitators and vocal abilities. Peace out.

This is my favourite Queen song, and I never thought I could even accept it being sung by anyone else. But this is great. Not only are you sounding a lot like Mr Mercury himself, but you are adding enough of your own to make it something different. But at the phrase "I'm burning through the sky" I actually got shivers cause it sounded so much like Freddie.
