I have a hard with Marc Newson. The only object of his that i touched was a Pentax camera - the least comfortable and convenient one Pentax has ever released, it just isn't very nice to hold, the controls are placed to look good rather than feel good. Sure, it looks distinctive, it doesn't look like a Storm Trooper with band-aids all over him like the other ones do (which is probably the ONLY way a real Storm Trooper could look, given how painfully incompetent they are), but that's about it, his design manages to remove value from a Pentax rather than enhance it. Speedboat looks nice, but i know nothing about speedboats. I'm sure a speedboat fanatic will dig holes the shape of the moon craters into his design. The Ford car rubs me the wrong way. He complains that cars look like a giant blew it up with a straw, and makes one that a child blew up with his straw. Its lights are badly placed for visibility, the self-cleaning properties are atrocious, so don't drive it in or after a rain. And the wheel wells are too small for the wheels, or the wheels are too big. White top of dashboard will reflect in the windshield! The seats look unsupportive, the instruments are placed such that the driver can't read them easily. The bicycle looks like it's a lot heavier than it has to be, which would not be an ideal property of a bicycle. I have a feeling that he secretly hates everything he does. I find it's telling that the object he became famous with is a chair that you can't sit on - you would slide off it in a minute and find all of your clothes torn. Granted, he has made some decent furniture since. Maybe his second attempt at a car won't be this disastrous.
