Discussing the value of a film with other people, and reaching the consensus that it was not a good film is also fine, though. Putting your opinion out into the public will almost always lead to your opinion being challenged and scrutinized. If it's a well thought out and well developed opinion, people will have a harder time "attacking" it. Most reasonable people (and most "toxic" people on the internet) are not about to tell you that you aren't allowed to have an opinion. As part of the broader online discussion, they are simply challenging the stance that Rise of Skywalker was a good film.
