This piece uses the B-A-C-H motive (Bb A C B-natural) in honor of its dedicaté, Albert Riemenschneider, a student of Dupré's teacher Charles-Marie Widor and a noted Bach scholar.

It is interesting to compare Dupre's own playing of this composition on the St Sulpice instrument with Michael Murray's recording of it on the same organ.
