Your reaction was priceless! Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song, he has no classical training, rather taught himself how to sing from an early age. He learned this song by listening to a recording by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. His performance, considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it, is gorgeous. His native language is Philipino Tagalog, and he has no formal training. The recording engineer was teasing him about his female voice. That's why he spit her out at the end. Notice his big grin after doing that. He is singing now in English, Italian, Spanish and Chinese but he does not speak those languages. Possibility even more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7. On September 21, 2014, Pomoy married Joan Paraiso of Calauag, Quezon, and they have one daughter, Marcella Janiah. He is very humble, helping out his neighbors with odd jobs and repairs, even though his reported net worth is around $5,000,000 USD. His ambition serves him well in whatever he does! Marcelito Pomoy was homeless and is self taught. Biologically, he's rare: able to expand his vocal chords and position his larinx to reach register men do but he can contract them in a way usually only women can. Some men contract the chords and keep it in a whole song in female voice, as seen in some talent shows. Marcelito Pomoy is unique as he goes back and forth male and female vocal chords positions easily, has extense range in both male and female registers and keeps pitch perfect in both.

I have seen several of these videos of Marcelito singing the prayer and other Celine's songs and he is always amazing. I don't think that he is totally aware of the profound , unique talent and ability he has. I hope he can quickly capitalize on his talent.
