He would stop by my father's Church Unity Temple early every Mother's Day to see my late grandmother...Sister Fanny Williams...He knew my mother and her sisters as children...and my aunt Alma Ransom played piano for his Church back in the "1960's"...who passed at the age of 33 years old...He kept an eye out for me as my pastor...after leaving my father's Church...back in 1982 till 1995...When I left his Church...He gave me his blessing...and said the doors are always open to return if I wanted to...Once when I visited...I thought I was not visible sitting in the balcony...He called me out!..."I see you in the balcony Ron Staten"...He teased me about joining Bethesda Christian Church (A predominantly white Church)...then where Pastor Marvin Winans Church now resides...He would talk to me using a white man's accent..."He would say..."Praise the Lord Brother!"... LOL...I loved Bishop Ellis...as many others did...and still do!...The Church Lived up to their name..."Greater Grace"...If people rejected you from another Church...If you were in trouble...This would be the Church known for...The God & Church of a second, third, or forth and beyond Chance...He would say for us who came to join the Church from another Church...I welcome brother or sister so & so..."from the same like Faith Church...He said jokingly at the new members introduction time of fellowship into the Church welcome...someone asked..."Why is everybody leaving Same Like Faith Church?"...LOL

I am from North Carolina and I first heard about the Bishop on KZbin. His singing and sermons have encouraged me so much. I'm thankful that he can still be an inspiration to so many after all these years since he's passed! Praise The Most High!!

Amen! I first had got to see the Bishop around 27 yrs ago. I did not know much about him being new to the church at the time. When you first seen him you don't think much on his stature. Not a very big man. Quiet. But once he hit that pulpit.. He was like a giant when he preached and sung! I was shocked when i heard of his passing a few short years after seeing him preach at our church in ohio in 1995. He has brother I remember too who is a Bishop still in the P.A.W in CHI.

Does anyone know the name of that awesome song that the choir is singing at about 46:59. think the lyrics say,"in the time of trouble God will uphold you God will preserve, you, God will come save you. In the time of trouble God will lift you up, Lord we ______". I love this song. If anyone knows the name and artist of this song please let me know. Thank you and God Bless🙏

Oh, to be “Kept for Jesus!” Kept, by the power of God; Kept from the world unspotted, Treading where Jesus trod. Refrain Oh, to be “Kept for Jesus!” Lord, at Thy feet I fall; I would be “nothing, nothing, nothing”; Thou shall be “all in all.” Oh, to be “Kept for Jesus!” Serving as He shall choose; “Kept” for the Master?s pleasure; “Kept” for the Master?s use. Refrain Oh, to be “Kept for Jesus!” Kept from the world apart; Lowly in mind and spirit, Gentle and pure in heart. Refrain Oh, to be “Kept for Jesus!” Oh, to be all His own; Kept, to be His forever, Kept, to be His alone! Refrain
