I haven't found such a useful and structured class packaged in this much little time by anyone....This much of class is delivered by others consuming hours and hours. You nailed so much knowledge at the below half-hour mark. Commendable. Every bit of it is a masterclass material and that too free...Kudos to you.....Such a talented guy!

Another great lesson Marc! As a former teacher I can say you do an outstanding job of presenting your material! I noticed the same of the Bmb5 and A9 are the same, except the root positions. For the A9 I use the low E as a reference on where my finger should be on the D string. I wish that I was 50 years younger when I started playing guitar (instead of 62- I'm 3 years in now but a long way to go).
@MarcGuitarVideos3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jojo, you are absolutely right about the 2 chords being the same and it just depends what the root is at the time. I'll be honest, I thought if I start going in to the theory to explain things like that, the video would end up being far too long! You are absolutely right though.
@jojo95353 жыл бұрын
Picking up a couple of guitar books with some theory, along with a good teacher has helped me immensely. My biggest problem is more of the physical aspect than the mental. My hands and fingers just don't work like they used to 50 years ago.

Hi Anthony - Thanks for the kind comment. This is a lesson I'd filmed a while back and was intending to publish it in January because the edit and the PDF was taking a while to put together as I needed to make all the chord charts from scratch. Due to the poor performance of the Hendrix lesson, I figured it was important to get a Blues lesson out sooner rather than later so I put the hours in, to get it ready for today. As for an acoustic lesson - yes I'll definitely be doing that soon.

@@MarcGuitarVideos i said Stormy by Classics 4, not Stormy Monday. Fans of the 60’s songs will remember the lick of the chorus. Not a straight blues song but it uses a lot of blues and jazz chords. Look it up. Nice chord sequence.

Great lesson Marc. When I come across a nice voicing I like to write a progression around it and get familiar with some of the options that arise. Robben Ford is a great source of exotic voicings.
@MarcGuitarVideos3 жыл бұрын
Hi Graeme, I completely agree with with. For some of the exotic chords here, I tried to explain where you might use them in a progression. I do the same thing, when I find a nice chord, I try to come up with a chord progression where it works. In the past, I written entire songs like that. As for Robben Ford, I studied his rhythm playing a lot when I was younger. I had his REH videos and bought his book on rhythm playing. He has a great approach to it

@@MarcGuitarVideos thank you so much. Learning alot from you
@MarcGuitarVideos3 жыл бұрын
@@davulcu64st Thanks! The important thing with this is that for the A chord you are using your index finger to hold down the D, G & B strings at the 5th fret and then hammer on the G string at the 6th fret with your middle finger while still letting the D and B strings ring out. I hope that explains it.
