You are doing a great service with your videos on budgeting and it looks like it is paying off, not only in reducing your debt but increasing your subscriber count and expanding your influence. I only discovered you from your “I’m broke” video and I’m so glad I did. Love your variety of content and your authenticity. 👍🏼 🌻

Why don't you look for photographers at local colleges looking to do creatives to save money on the photographer. Being on your insta could provide them with great publicity to build their future business.

Hi Mia, I know you mean well, so don’t take this as me being angry of something. coming from a creative industry, we get asked to work for publicity A LOT. Unfortunately publicity doesn’t pay our rent, and most of the time it doesn’t give us a lot of new projects to work on/people to work with. However, when you want to hire a photographer that is still in school, you don’t HAVE to pay full price because obv the haven’t graduated yet. So in that way you CAN save money, just don’t expect to get it for free :)

I love the reward system you created! So many people live like hermits, doing nothing, having no fun and even limiting their diets just to pay off their loans fast. Your approach is so much more realistic and proves you can still have a life and deal with your debts.

I love how straight forward and informative this video is! I also appreciate how real you are with your budget, no fancy lists or editing - just a spreadsheet and real numbers. I’ll be starting to pay off my student loans at the end of the year, and it’s never to early to start preparing. Thank you! ✨

I’m so motivated by you and your budgeting. I just got paid today and by this video I can figure things out and feel motivated. I’m the same way about having things over my head like my 55k student loans. I’m also doing the snow ball. Although I don’t buy clothes or things like I used to since doing it I’ll get to be soooo happy in the end. Thank you and for everyone else WE CAN DO THIS WE GOT THIS!!!

But I did and I'm now two months from paying off my student loans and then I'll tackle my credit card debt. Hoping to have one card paid off by the end of the year and the other two cards within two years. I can't wait to be debt free

Honestly this is SO important what youre doing here bc my friend had to put school on hold bc she couldnt pay back her loan and wanted to transfer but she cant transfer bc she owes its a mess. Im so thankful that I went to city school and accrued no debt but its REAL out here. Student loan debt is incredible and lots of people don't even use their BA's their job has nothing to do with what they went to school for. And you feel trapped and don't know how to overcome it. I wish kids going into highschool could see this and try to figure out going to school with the least amount of debt.

I home cook my dogs food. You control every ingredient and know exactly what your dog is consuming. I cook a variety of carrots, broccoli, chicken or duck or an egg for protein, and sometimes steamed kale/spinach. It's basically like a meal prep meal but for my dog.

Aja maybe if you made it so it read down (so not 2 columns) it may make more sense to you (it's hard for me to read the separate columns - it's not how my brain thinks. Also, for your dogs - great, less work way to cook their food is to get chicken breast from the market and put them in foil in your oven on 350 for about 75 minutes. Then you can blend it all (it shreds it in my vitamix). Then just steam some green veggies, steam them and then freeze the excess and you have food for the week! Love your budget inspiration. Thank you for being so real!

A tip for how at the end you said you feel like your missing something in your budget: You should make a list of every single thing you spend money all year, from monthly rent to subscription services to annual dues for anything and also write down when they're due, whether its something you pay for monthly or weekly or annually etc. Not only does this keep you from forgetting about a payment, but it also lets you see everything you're paying for so if you decide you want to cut things out it's a lot easier to see it visually.

You could totally cook your dogs food without it being so time consuming! We do it with ours because we don't trust the industry either. We give her leftovers (fruits and veggies) and we cook her some rice with protein (chicken, eggs or whatever we have). You can cook enough rice with protein for a week and put it in the freezer. then you can warm it up before you feed her. Good luck!!

Aja, have you thought about just feeding raw to your dogs? We give raw to our dog plus simple veggies like broccoli and carrots. Its quite easy and no hassle. Also, i love excel. I just do a data dump of my bank statement (no manipulation) to excel where i created data validation list for the budget categories. Super easy! one tab has a pivot which shows ytd actuals that you simply right click and refresh. The budget tab shows my budget by category and next to it, i pull in actuals to compare. I already worked in a drop down so you can chose the month you want to look at and all the formulas will do the work for you!
