I LOVE the idea of the little blue flowers under forsythia! I've wanted a forsythia ever since reading the Berenstein Bears and the Real Easter Eggs to my boys decades ago. I planted two Northern Gold on either side of my deck and the bunnies chewed them up over winter of 2019-2020. I thought they were dead, and realized they would have gotten way too big in that area anyway, so I transplanted them elsewhere and, lo and behold, over the summer they grew back and thrived! I replaced them near the deck with a smaller variety -- Gold Tide I think -- and am WAITING for Spring, hoping to get a beautiful display of yellow. I LOVE the idea of adding little blue lithodoras under them. Not sure if they'll stand my zone 4 temps, but it is somewhat sheltered spot, so worth a try.

My forsythia is at least 10 feet and wants to get bigger than that, but I keep it pruned all summer.

Great plant selections. Happy Spring.🌱White Candytuft grows extremely well here in the Carolinas. I’ve had the same plant for about three years. It booms almost as early as the daffodils🌼. After it blooms I give it a haircut. Also I spread coffee grounds around it. I usually get more flowering. Lithodora is not as heat tolerant as candytuft where we are. I regard it as an annual. Its vibrant blue flowers are fantastic in containers on the patio.💕 Lithodora is a member of the borage family, but much less aggressive. You get the blue color like delphinium, but not the toxicity.🌱🙂

Hi Debbie, I've been enjoying your videos! In my yard I'd like a PNW woodland shade garden. My major problem is I don't have shade. I've planted a Western Hemlock and Western White Pine for long term shade, plus some Bitter Cherry trees for faster growth. What plantings would you recommend for a native woodland look, things that can tolerate sun, but eventually thrive in or create shade?

Hi great video, can you tell me how your zone compares to the North East of England U.K. please. Is your spring warm or is it still chilly on a morning then warming up to 12 degrees Centigrade. Thanks again.

Still cold mornings but quickly warming to 60 degrees. :)

Love the plant selections you featured. I'm just north of Seattle and my cordyline plants are totally brown after all the snow. Will they come back do you think? Also, I have white candy tuft growing on my retaining wall in full sun but it doesn't look as healthy as your example. I bought this house last June and the sellers said they just leave it alone. But I'm thinking maybe it needs some fertilizer. It's blooming now but the blooms are not as big as your plant. The plants are very well established. Any advice? I hope to make it out to your nursery this summer when I'm traveling in your area. I usually end up in your neck of the woods at least once a summer. Thanks!

Your plant selections are lovely. I did not know that some Candytufts are perennial. I will look on my pkt from Johnny's and see if it is the perennial type. As I watch I wonder where you are gardening? Oh,"here in the NorthWest". You have a beautiful setting however the airplane pattern distracts from your presentation.
