Good luck to everyone taking the March 9th test! I got a 1590 on Practice Test 4 but my anxiety is through the roof
@SetteleTutoring9 ай бұрын
That’s amazing! I’m sure you’ll do great! Just don’t panic if it seems harder than the practice tests. Remember that the test is graded on a curve that normalizes the difficulty, so a slightly harder test will have a slightly easier curve. Just focus on getting as many questions right as possible, and don’t worry if one or two questions get by you. They might even be the experimental questions that don’t count!
@isl98789 ай бұрын
is it harder than the first three ones?
@SetteleTutoring9 ай бұрын
@@isl9878 I’m not sure what you’re asking, but what I”m trying to say is that no SAT is actually any harder or easier than any other. It may FEEL harder while you’re taking it because of nervousness or just a few tricky questions. But the scoring curve will always even out the difficulty. Tests with harder questions will allow you to get more questions wrong to get the same score. So don’t worry how the test feels as you’re taking it. Just try to get as many right as possible.

Thank you for the video! The question about retinol is extremely confusing, like for me C and D seemed equally dubios. I don't think that removing retinol 99% means no increased collagen concentrations, so I still don't get it. Hope there won't be many such questions on a real SAT 🙏🏻🤓
@SetteleTutoring9 ай бұрын
It’s definitely one of the hardest questions you’d see on the test, so there won’t be very many like this at all. You’re right that removing retinol doesn’t guarantee that collagen won’t change, but we have to follow the pattern that the passage is setting up. They want us to see that R=C, basically. So noR=noC is the simplest move. And since Choice C uses the word “may”, we can pick it without closing the door to the possibility that aloe actually does increase collagen. Choice D is a little more certain that aloe boosts collagen, which is always risky on the SAT. I know these seem like very minor differences, but they matter. The SAT’s hardest questions will come down to noticing words that we might otherwise ignore. When in doubt, follow the advice in the video and go with whichever choice feels more vague and weak. It’s more likely to be correct!

That’s awesome! Try to cut out any “careless” mistakes to save those last few points. The grammar, transitions, and outlines are the easiest Reading questions to answer perfectly before Saturday. In Math, use the strategies when the questions get tough - Plug Points Into Equations, Arithmetize, and Desmos.

@@hanj6852 Yes, I find the passages the most difficult part of the test too. The main strategy is to use Dumb Summaries. Sometimes the connotation of the passage is enough to eliminate a few choices right away. Then look out for the SAT’s most common traps. In my experience, the most common reason people get Reading questions wrong is not that they don’t understand the passages, but that they don’t understand the answer choices. They miss key words that make a choice too extreme.

They never said only retinol exclusively increase collage but collagen is important for overcoming the wrinkle so I think D is more coherent
@SetteleTutoring9 ай бұрын
Be careful with your assumptions. You’re right that they never said retinol is the only way to increase collagen, but they also never said that collagen is important for overcoming wrinkles. It seems like there’s more than one way to lower wrinkles, and without retinol, aloe may be providing that other path. Choice C is acknowledging that possibility without completely closing the door to your point that collagen could still be the cause. Words like “may” are very useful in SAT answer choices because they weaken answers so that we’re not stuck saying something “must” be so.

I watched the connotiation one. Can this tip be applied? The tip: play positive/negative (connotation of the text and the options) (which mean if the text indicates positivity, the ans will stay consistent with it)
@SetteleTutoring9 ай бұрын
I don’t know how much connotations work with the retinol question, since the whole thing feels very scientific and neutral to me, but the connotation/Dumb Summary strategy definitely works on LOTS of Reading questions. I use it all the time. At the least, it’s a good place to start because you’re right that a positive text will likely have a positive answer, so you would be able to cross out negative answers pretty easily. You might need to think deeper to get the one right answer, but connotations help filter out bad choices quickly and simply.

Do we get scratch paper on reading test sat
@SetteleTutoring9 ай бұрын
Yes, you get scratch paper for both Reading and Math. In fact, I believe that they give you all of the scratch paper at the start of the test. So if there are any math formulas that you are afraid you’ll forget, you can write them down immediately when the test starts. You can also ask for more paper if you run out. They’ll collect all of it at the end of the test.

Hi, thanks for your incredible strategies. I am really exhausted after doing numerous questions of Reading Section still ending in getting them incorrect. Now only 3 days are left and I am really depressed. Kindly give some tip in such a way that I can both complete the English Section in time and atleast getting 700. I scored 670 in recent test but I knew one question from it and answered it. Now after seeing questions from SAT Suite Bank, I am really getting depressed because most of them are getting incorrect. Plz help me. I can eliminate 2 choices most of the time and get stuck with 2 choices that are relevant.
@SetteleTutoring9 ай бұрын
I’m happy to help! The most important thing with the time left would be to focus on the grammar, transitions, and outlines, since those questions tend to be the easiest overall. Plus, they involve a bit more memorization, which is controllable. The grammar playlist in the description is a great review of most rules. If you’re getting the passage questions wrong, it’s probably because you’re falling for the SAT’s traps, especially when you’re down to 2 similar answers. If you haven’t already watched my lesson on Trap Answers, I highly recommend it (link below). I also just released some of the Question Bank questions on the Logic/Inference questions, which tend to be very hard, especially the first one I posted. @@SetteleTutoring I think my vocab is fine. The real issue is with Reading questions. I will surely watch your video. Thanks for suggestion and reply. One thing I can't figure out is that should I annotate or write on the paper or just read slowly enough to understand each line (while completing the test in time) because while doing SAT Suite Bank Hard Questions, I figured that I couldn't get the meaning of whole sentence and relation of one thing to another. I saw that I missed this thing and that thing from the passage that could ultimately help me in selecting the best choice. And Thanks a lot. Your videos especially 10 Days Strategies have helped me a lot.

@@msubhan_malik You don’t usually need to understand everything you read. I recommend reading faster and noticing Strong Words that move the story along. Usually they have some sort of positive or negative connotation, but other times they are just words that emphasize a specific idea. I use the paper for some questions, but most I can do in my head because I keep my summary very simple/dumb. Most of the work is done analyzing the choices. They usually contain Strong Words that you can go hunting for in the passages. That’s usually easier than trying to understand the entire passage. Just try to understand what the choices tell you to go looking for.

There were some percentage complex and long percentage problems that I probably got wrong because I was not prepared for those types of questions. They were essentially the concept of finding the percentage of a percentage (but in a word problem context of course) There was also a really tricky circle problem that was asked that was unlike anything I have seen, and it asked to find something like an angle of the circle given the arc length and three points on a circle. This was probably an experimental question, but if you know a math problem that is similar to what I am talking about, please let me know so I don't fall for it when I take the school SAT (which is less than two weeks from now).
