I think you have the Thran Vigil + Persist interaction wrong, you only need 1 persist creature to go infinite. When you sacrifice the persist creature, the persist trigger will go on the stack, not the card itself. Then the persist trigger will resolve and put the creature on the battlefield from the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter. Thran Vigil will trigger and you can target the persist creature. A card will only go on the stack if you cast it.

ooo rly, i bought this to put in my marchesa deck. already have a few persist combos but this make it more deadly lol. dam, might have to think adding redcap to my deck lol. ooo wow editing this comment, i didnt notice first day of class also combos with persist, i tought that was only the first criature that ETB but the effect stays the whole turn right? therefore it keeps up canceling persist. Need that card also

its a shame that enchantment is only in your turn but at least we got more ways to put counters on our stuff

Just took apart my Marchesa deck last month. It was almost 100% just a dethrone ETB trigger deck. Was waging on making it a creature stealing themed one but thought that would be too mean. This video gave me some ideas and I'm definitely putting together a Marchesa deck again in 2023 with the stealing theme

Seize the Spotlight deserves a spot (assuming you actually have the deck built lol). No one will choose the theft option (which doesn't target) but that means you draw 3 essentially free. Canoptek Tomb Sentinel is an abuseable answer for problematic enchantments.
