I just wish it tied into research we had seen him doing before the arc and that this was a culmination of research we had seen him actively conducting from his first introduction till now. Kubo tends to make barely relevant things up for scientist characters whenever the plot needs it in order to make him look strong. Contrast that with the Alchemists of Full Metal alchemist, everyone has their specialty and doesn't stray from it or grow their research by leaps and bounds off screen

@xanon4210 all the toshiro stuff was fire as hell, but when the chapters came out weekly years ago (I wasn't there but I heard from people who read it at the time) the Pepe fight lasted like a full month and it was awful. We just got off another controller character, and Pepe is worse than Giselle. His holy form is AWFUL (if appropriate) and the three sternritter got offscreened. To add to the confusion, the beginning of the royal palace stuff was happening at the same time. I'm glad it got hella improved in the anime

@@BoosterUM I read the 1000 Year Blood War while it was being published weekly and although my memories of the Pepe fight is fuzzy, I really doubt it took a month to get through. That's 4 whole chapters and that's enough to make an entire episode of the anime with and since this fight only took about half the episode I think it's was at most 2 and a half chapters or 3 at the most. Honestly I wasn't dreading this fight at all. As creepy he is, Pepe's character seems pretty appropriate for his power to force people to love him. I think in the end people just sort of exaggerate about how messy this part of the story was when it was published.

@@BoosterUM I think Bleach is better in anime form because in manga form certain fights lasted like 6 chapters or 7 and it's like the story didn't move at all here we are already adapt 100 chapters in 23 episodes

Honestly, Hitsugaya, Kensei, and Rose deserve this after their poor performance in this war. Especially Hitsugaya with his only plan being to use shikai against them in the beginning. Proving 100% that he is a trash captain and that looking cool plus having ice powers doesn't make you great if your strategies and skills are subpar.

@@thezx5795 Yep, and that's why Captain Mayuri is better. And Hitsugaya wasn't smart enough to ask for help either. If I remember correctly, he just ended up going to his squad's dojo and swinging his sword repeatedly, hoping to work on the basics. When he should have been trying to learn some new kido. Or some way to harness his high spiritual pressure without bankai.

Kido takes way too long to learn properly plus the Quincy absorb reishi and can easily absorb Kido making wasting unknown time on it would amount to basically nothing. He literally spent what time he had trying to improve what little he could and strengthening his Shikai with what little time they had. Y'all niggas really just be finding any reason to hate on the character. I don't even like him like that but ain't no way you trashing this man for not doing something that takes years of practice and training in at most a week against opponents that been ready to fight them for centuries LMAO
