Coach Cal has stated that titles are NOT important. He wants to develop players for the NBA. So he gets 4 or 5 of the best high school players each year and they improve and stay one or two seasons. But a team without skilled veteran players (juniors and seniors) will ALWAYS collapse in tournaments. The UK championship with Anthony Davis was a 'one-off' due to his exceptional ability to carry a team.

Beautiful basketball by St. Peter's. I played at a small high-school and my Dad was our summer league/club ball coach. He used to always say to us in the huddle, "These guys aren't supermen," when talking about the other team. It was obvious, but exactly what we needed to hear when playing against a bigger school, with "better" athletes. Firstly, it kept the chip on our shoulder. Secondly, just because they have a certain reputation doesn't mean anything, we can win any game.

How about the loss starting at the top. Coach Cal lack of adjustment throughout the entire game. Being out coached, lack of preparation of his team. Could someone please explain to Cal when, how and why to use your timeouts! During regulation with 3 min to go a 6 point lead. They go to a zone and take the lead without you scoring. Seems like a good time to use one of those timeout before they took the lead. 20 seconds left in regulation tied up you have the last shot. Another time to take a timeout to setup a play. Surely they would of gotten a better shot than what they actually got. Sure the guards were outplayed, but out coached as well... kinda takes you back to the Wisconsin game were we was leading and they made a run and won the game in the final minutes. No timeout called during that time by Cal...

This game is as memorable as anything I’ve ever witnessed. The best thing about sports is you get to play against somebody else in the best man, and the best team wins. It doesn’t matter who’s the better in the long run, and who is the better team overall but at one game they were better. And last night, they were obviously better. It’s that simple. It was unbelievable to watch. Kentucky had a great season. What those young kids did last night I was glad I watched to see history. Honestly, hats off to Shaheen Holloway he played terrific, and I mean terrific basketball! He went up, and he played an extraordinarily hard university team to beat let alone program throughout history honestly in America, and I’m not just saying that! John Calipari is a household name, and his university Kentucky is arguably One of the biggest names of all of college basketball, and The University of Kentucky is world-renowned, and his basketball team at Kentucky is known all over in all States, and this team that he had this year was incredibly difficult to defeat, especially during the tournament this is hard to do, and to do that takes a major effort. John Calipari is a very good coach, and his players this year were extraordinarily talented. Kudos to him. You have to give it to the peacocks they played unbelievable Basketball. The moral of this story is that hard work goes a long way. There is nothing that you cannot do. I mean that. It’s not just true with basketball it’s beyond Basketball it’s true in life. It’s how you pick yourself back up after failure. You can never underestimate yourself. This little team did just that. They believed in themselves. Anything is possible in life if you believe in yourself. You have to challenge yourself. Number 15 beating number 2 speaks for itself. Anything is possible! There is nothing that you cannot do if you believe in yourself. Hard work rewards you! 👍

KENTUCKY IS JUST 1 COACH AWAY FROM ANOTHER NATIONAL TITLE
@yvrgator2 жыл бұрын
It's time for Calipari to go. This was very embarrasing for the SEC and Kentucky. Fire Calipari.
@clearviewtechnical2 жыл бұрын
Kentucky will not win another title with so many 'one and dones'. The cats rarely have ANY senior leadership because of most players staying one or two seasons. If Cal would or could recruit some quality 'college' players who gradually develop and actually become great college seniors, then they would have more tournament success.

So impressed by this St. Peters team. They have quite a few good players and all of them are skilled offensively. This definitely is not one of those upsets where a bad team has one star player who got hot for a game.

St Peter's is one of the worst offensive teams in the nation. Lol Kentucky just made them look good offensively. Calipari is a fraud!

@@petersd314 I don't know about that. St. Peters was making all kinds of really difficult shots all game. You can play good defense and sometimes the shot still goes in.

St. Peter's reminds me of those Wichita State teams from early 2010s. They had a lil bit of everything and underrated
@GoZags432 жыл бұрын
Those Wichita state teams had 3 players who played in the NBA. They had one All Star in Van Vleet. They had other pros besides just those three as well. This team isn’t close to that talented. They played like it today though.
@Stcksj2 жыл бұрын
@Josh A your last sentence was literally the point of my post. I didn't need an analysis. Everyone knows who they were.. but before they were that, they looked liked this. In college.. you goofy clown..
@GoZags432 жыл бұрын
@@Stcksj Name calling for pointing that out? Nice. Sorry St. Peter’s just isn’t anything like those Wichita St teams. The main reason why? Wichita was one of the 20 best teams in CBB by any metric that 1st year and then even better for a couple of years after that. St Peters isn’t In top 100.

@Josh A another analytic need. Just each the games, it's easier. The got that sauce. So shut up and enjoy. They won again today btw!
@GoZags432 жыл бұрын
@@Stcksj I loved seeing them win again. It was incredibly enjoyable. I’m assuming you are trying to say analytic “nerd.” Sorry “just watching the games” leads to mountains of cognitive biases. If you only watch the games, you literally don’t know more than 25% (maybe) of what is happening, strengths and weaknesses of teams, and you will be especially clueless in predicting outcomes. That’s because our brains are really bad at processing large amounts of data and finding signal in the noise. Anyone who actually understands basketball, loves numbers and can interpret data. They also love watching basketball. Has to be both.

I honestly just feel so bad for Oscar he really gave it his all out there one man can only so much it's just pitiful I just think Kentucky really needs to consider needing a change in there program it's just underachieving ik people will be mad saying that but it's the truth if calipari wasn't getting the money he is and the resources they give him to recruit I would say it could happen to anyone but they literally have given him everything it takes to win and nothing gets in return but I also will say alot of these players are just not stepping up we all have to be honest some of the players had good games this season but Oscar was the main reason they won there games he's bailed them out every single time it's just not right.
