Just like Kentucky, if your top shooter/s go cold there are few other offensive options. From what I saw Creighton played Clark very physically, the refs were not making calls, and they put her off her game. Smart coaching strategy, Clark needs to learn to play through it, she is always going to be targeted.

I like tough physical play, I think that generally women play fair. My only issue in the past year has been very inconsistent refereeing. Some games they call everything and destroy the flow of the game, this game they let them play. NCAAW needs to figure it out and be consistent. Like most sports, one set of rules for the regular season, one set for the playoffs. Enforce fairly and consistently.

The outcome of this game isn't a surprise. In the Big 10 Tournament vs Nebraska, Caitlin Clark scored one point less than the rest of her entire team, 41 vs 42. At halftime of today's game, Clark and Czinano combined for 26 points, the rest of team totaled 6 points. Clark and Czinano were the only Iowa players to score until there was 1 minute 42 seconds left IN THE FIRST HALF. Many times in this game, Clark or Czinano would dribble into or shoot while being double or triple teamed. At times, other players would also pass into these two players while they (the receiving player) were being double teamed. Ultimately, Clark and Czinano scored 42 points total, the rest scored 20 combined. Your team becomes an easy out with game play like that. And I'm not necessarily blaming Clark or Czinano, I'm mainly blaming the coaching staff (like I did after the Nebraska game). I can't imagine Iowa went into this game wanting that type of point distribution or game play. Nevertheless, that's what happened. And it's not like Creighton is a juggernaut.
@jeromedanielson44222 жыл бұрын
Agreed Creighton is not a "juggernaut." However, after playing a team like UConn at least two times a year and once in the conf. tourney Creighton certainly is prepared for a team like Iowa. Geno A. continually says Creighton is a highly disciplined team due to the coaching staff, which was proven today.

When the NPOY is selected, is her play in the NCAA Tournament taken into consideration? Or does the selection committee just look at the regular season and Conference Championship stats?
