A suggestion…. Do it the other way around, organs on 3-4 and everything else on 1-2. Nord has a feature where all sounds using Rotary effects always go to 1-2. So, if you don’t bring your external pedal or Leslie to a particular gig, you can switch to internal Rotary, and all of your sounds will be on 1-2 and can go to the same amp or mixer channels.

Hey @Dan Bechard I like the way you think! Since people tend to use the rotary for organs (more than they would for piano and synth), your idea holds up really well here. It feels more flexible this way so that you always have the rotary when and if you should need it without the worry that the sound will stop. This is especially true since so many of the factory organ sounds do, in fact include the rotary speaker on by default.

@Rich Kielbasa I completely agree!!! Gosh, this made me laugh. 👍🏻 Now, if only I had a channel where we train people on the bass clarinet, that would be a much better orientation for the portrait (shorts) view. 😉

I’m not sure, but isn’t it so that output 3-4 loses the leslie sim effect so if you have a Epiano with Leslie, the effect will not be heard?

@@jamesdepoorter726 There are various reasons for this. Personally, I use Outputs 1 & 2 for only Piano and Synth. I run ALL my organs out of Output 3 mono. From there, my I have 3 different lounsberry pedals chained together and into a more desired effects chain outside the Nord which lastly runs stereo into the mixer. I have never used Ouput 4, and can't think of any reason I ever would.

@@RichKielbasa that's probably why Nord designed it like this (so a leslie speaker cabinet could be attached) but I would liked to have the option to pass every effect to 3-4, though. Organ sounds need sometimes specific dynamics.

@@jamesdepoorter726 Yes, you are 100% correct. The Piano/Synth will cut out when you assign the rotary speaker to either one. I assume most people don't use the rotary with those engines, so it may not be a big deal for them. Yet, it's good to have this reminder because that is an important aspect of how the Nords work and I've seen it trip up quite a few people.

did you encounter Transfer Protocol Not Supported on NORD Stage 3, organ and piano panels aren't working, rest of panels are stucked lighting up. The display only displays "NS3 HA88 V2.12" on the upper screen, and "Mnb Pnl Kbd Sys" on lower part of the screen - what did you do?

@alan93 Hello Alan. In the context of this video, we're talking about "Audio Outputs" for outputs 1, 2, 3, and 4 on a Nord Stage 3. This allows the keyboardist flexibility on where they distribute their sound. For example, you could have your Piano and Synth go out on 1 and 2 to the mixer/front of the house. Then, on output 3, you could have your organ go out to a dedicated Leslie speaker on stage, then to the front of the house via the output on the speaker. This enables you to have just your organ sounds played through the Leslie. That's the kind of flexibility the Stage 3 provides, which some keyboard players utilize in the studio or for live performance. That is just one example, there are many others as well.
