A great 147. Very good commentary from Steven Hendry. He was predicting almost every shot. Being one of the best all time players, I guess it's expected.
@Craig-ib7gk5 жыл бұрын
Hendry is just a boss in that booth. (don't know if that gets lost in the US vs UK vernacular, but that's a good thing). That guy has forgotten more about snooker than most people will ever know. I *love* listening to him call a match. He not only tells you what a player is doing, he very briefly, yet very informatively, tells you *why* . Best color man in the business as far as I'm concerned.

Who else would we want as a commentator on a 147 other than Stephen Hendry, world class snooker player, some say the best ever, his shot prediction made this 147 very memorable.

I've watched Marco Fu play a Pro Am game live when i was a teenager. He ran a 95. It was a private invite only and only had about less then 20 people in the snooker hall. You can hear a pin drop. I knew the owner and he knew how much I love snooker so he allowed a young kid to watch. Before Marco left the pool hall the owner waved me over and said go ask Marco for a autograph. He ended signed my cue case back in the 90s in Vancouver, BC Canada before leaving his hometown British Columbia. I still have the cue case. He ended up moving to Hong Kong and played there to get into to Pros from his sponsors and when he turned Pro he represented Hong Kong and not Canada. Marco's dad did not allow anyone to play vs his son during his teenager/adult years just for fun. Marco was only allowed to play vs players his level during that time or just go around and practice at different pool halls. Yes Marco had a snooker table at home as well. My brother did play a friendly game vs his dad Willie Fu. Marco's coach at that time knew us young teenagers well. We all from same hometown Vancouver, BC. Great memories I will never forget. Snooker was so popular during the 90s in my town.

Wow mate what a great comment!! Highly respect you. I’m a snooker player myself and my highest break is 82, I lost a frame tonight against a rubbish league player and said to myself it was because he put all the balls to the cushion and made it hard to make breaks! I then read your comment about Marcos dad saying he can’t play players who arnt up to his standard. I shall do the same thing from now on haha thanks for that! Also jimmy white signed my cue case which I have now so we both have similar interest. Lemme know if you fancy a frame sometime :) All the best Harry
@kvlifestyle604 Жыл бұрын
@@HarryTurner24 wow great story! 82 break is your highest? Nice!!! I’m self taught so I don’t know if that is consider to be a snooker player or not but I love to. It just gets too expensive per hour to play. My highest break in line practice was a 144. I think I posted my 144 in line break on KZbin. I got really lucky that night and my pots were going ALL in haha. During a match my highest break was 100, I missed a potable black to the corner. Would’ve been 107 fml haha. What city do you live in? I’m in Vancouver, BC? If the same city then in the near future we can play some

Depends on the style. I would recommend a ebony or rosewood butt no fancy veneers or in lays. Just cost more. I bought mine back in 1991 and sits in the closet for over 10 years and still straight as an arrow still hits great with rosewood plain butt. If you go to his web site, you get more info. Plus he keeps a record of his cue that has the weight length, size type of wood and joint measurements so if you need a extra shaft or butt later ; you just phone or e-mail with the number on the cue and do not have to send the cue away. You are looking around $1500 and up for a base cue. He does half, 3/4 shafts and one piece. They do come on E-bay once every 8-10 years that's a half shaft for around a $1000 and up. Last one on E-Bay went for $800 U.S. about 3 months ago. I also heard that earlier models like mine have went for $5000-$8000 in China without the serial numbers on them. Hope this help you out.

@@paulr6881 and also snooker players being very honest (for the most part) - they would also call the foul on themselves if the ref never noticed
