Yeah kizaru attack couldn't do anything to Marco but one punch from garp knocked him down....but according to brago it was because he was not looking ....he was not dodging kizaru so why does it matter...... Akainu was injured from fight with whitebeard at that point too....if anything at the very least garp could have beat the crap out of akainu before getting tired and akainu either escaping or hurt him back but he would have seriously injured akainu if he attacked...

Marco is severely underrated and here’s my opinion as to why. Marco has a couple of notable failures under his belt letting Ace and WB die is probably the most notable but the second is losing in a battle to Blackbeard afterwards. Because of that people assume he doesn’t belong at the top of the one piece echelon of characters. But let me say this The Whitebeard pirates took on the whole world government for Ace that included the warlords as well. And they still somewhat survived maybe fractionally but they still survived. Marco has taken on some of the most powerful characters in the story and is still alive to tell the story. The last thing I want to point out is this Blackbeard is an anomaly in one piece just like Luffy. What I mean is their characters pull off feats that you don’t expect them to do but it happens because it’s apart of the story. With that being said you cannot take Marcos lost to BB as a sign of weakness but just to show how powerful the final boss of one piece (BB) is becoming

@@eshryo Everyone who had warlord status by Marineford: Mihawk, Moria, Doflamingo, Boa, Kuma, Jinbei, and Blackbeard. Crocodile lost his status after Alabasta and was working on the side and company. Both Blackbeard and Jinbei revoked their status before they really got involved with the action. So the warlords who were "on paper," on the side of marines at Marineford is 5: Mihawk, Moria, Doflamingo, Boa, and Kuma. Blackbeard "on paper," was still technically a warlord, but he was literally invading Impel Down during all of this, so he wasn't much of a warlord at that point. And Boa wasn't discriminating who she was fighting and was mostly on Luffy's side than anything. Anyway for actual warlords who were on the marines side: Mihawk, Doflamingo, Moria, and Kuma. And Mihawk was half-assing because he got into a fight with one of the major players of the WB pirates, Vista, and then was like "nah not right now". Then he basically refused to actually eliminate Luffy instead choosing to test him. Notice when people were actually out to eliminate Luffy: Smoker, Momonga, Dalmation they fucked him up. That's definitely a half-ass even when compared to other warlords there. Moria tried to take out Jinbei [didn't work but he made a real attempt] and he helped take out Oars, Doflamingo also helped take out Oars and stopped Jozu for a bit who was attacking Crocodile who wanted to take out WB, and Kuma was a brainless weapon for the marines. Boa was just being annoying for both sides, but was mostly on Luffy's side. Meanwhile, Whitebeard's side had Jinbei and Crocodile and sort've Boa to some degree.

pascalboyajian I’m honestly not sure because I don’t give the same respect to Katakuri as I do Ben Beckman in terms of pure power anyway. I admit I have zero idea how to take Marco out without Blackbeard’s fruit. I’ve just always worked under the assumption he eventually loses to top tiers, because otherwise he could easily be admiral or Yonkou level because his fruit is just that broken. But, with things like Bege taking a few hits from BM, Queen taking hits from BM, Jinbei taking a hit from BM and Akainu, and the 4 revs presumably getting away from 2 admirals I think even though top tiers are in a class of their own they aren’t insanely above these commander level characters. At the very least the commanders can take “some hits,” very well. Judging from Judge though 4th commanders get one shot in a legitimate matchup (no blindsiding, no nerfing) by top tiers though. Vista “clashing,” with Mihawk and Jozu blocking his attack I think helps speak to the fact commanders aren’t absolute fodder when it comes to top tiers. Like Jozu was literally walking around with the ability to hurt admirals. Obviously commanders most of the time still lose, but it’s not like they are complete trash when it comes to top tiers.

Marco is honestly admiral level. He overpowers kizaru lands a hit on Aokiji putting him out for a good amount of time while his df was active. Stands up and holds his own against Akainu and takes a punch from Garp when he was off guard. Marco is the most slept on character in one piece.

Aokiji was back up right after. It was as insignificant as Luffy knocking Kaido out of the sky. Marco couldn't do any damage, but he was one shot without his regeneration, so he's clearly not on that level.

@@Greenchecks101 Marco simply has one of the best defensive fruits. That doesn't mean he "matched" his opponent when he just flies into them and regenerates any damage he receives. Without his regeneration he was taken out by 2 lasers from Kizaru though. That just shows that when he reaches his limit he would get wiped out just like anyone else. His ability is just a pain to deal with. Even with 12 Whitebeard Commanders helping him he was still inferior to an injured Akainu that had taken an island-splitting punch. Even prior to that when he tries to attack Akainu with Vista, Akainu just shrugs them off as annoying. That just shows the difference between him and the Admirals.

But as we saw he was capable of keeping the admirals from harming his teammates. If he really wasn't at the same level as the admirals then Kizaru's lasers should've passed through him and went for Whitebeard. That would be the case if what you're saying is true (that marco can only regen but not match the admirals). Also, if he really cannot match the admirals then Kizaru would've just shrugged off his kick but instead, Kizaru was overpowered and got smacked. Also, Akainu wasn't pushing him back in the manga. Akainu couldn't budge Marco even though Marco was focused on giving a speech and telling the others what to do. Also, Whitebeard's attack was the only damage that Akainu took during the war. Akainu had both Aokiji and Kizaru helping him plus 5 of the 7 warlords so Akainu saved more stamina. In Marco's case, he was the only one capable in his team when it comes to stopping an admiral. Whitebeard was sick and couldn't even touch Kizaru. Jozu was doing his best but he gets overpowered by Doffy and Aokiji. Marco had to take care of them all. And the only decent shot that Kizaru landed on Marco was at that time when Marco had been distracted by his falling teammates and captain.

On the other hand, the marines had the Warlords, Vice captains, Admirals, Fleet admiral, Garp. 1.) Vice Captains = newworld captns 2.) Warlords > Formerwarlords plus 12 commanders. (cause of Mihawk, Kuma, and Doffy) 3.) Whitebeard > Kizaru 4.) Aokiji > Jozu 5.) Garp > Anyone 6.) Sengoku > Anyone Do you now see how big the marine's advantage was? Marco was doing almost all the work.

I personally think Marco is by far the strongest yonko right hand man and in an overall character strength chart I would place him on the top 15. Depending on Mihawks and Oden's future display, Raileighs prime and being comparable to the three of them and Douglas Bullet. I rank him slightly over the admirals since he could not damage Akainu but he effectively tanked all the damage coming from the attack power that literally pierced through Ace's and Whitebeard's chests. About Garp, the thing isn't just that he got damaged rather than Garp's main strength is haki. Which nullifies fruit powers. Even if he was old, his mastery through haki is still there. Haki is not about raw strength but control over how to manifest your willpower. Also, he tanked and bested Kizaru and sent Aokiji flying too. Also, that Gorosei quote is to take in account too, since Kurohige already had two DF in the payback war and he's gonna be the pirate final bossnun the series. And finally we were told that Kh pirates overwhelmed Sh remnants, and still, knowing that Kh is hunting strong devil fruits we saw Marco survived and has not a single scratch from that day. So maybe it wasn't that overwhelming, such as in a match when both teams play almost equally well but one of them commits a few fails and the overall score seems much worst than the real course of the events.

Before I watch the vid: Marco is tie with Ben Beckman as the strongest 1st commander IMO. People forget the oda changed the power scaling drastically (minimal haki) from pre to post timeskip so all top tiers were nerfed pre timeskip especially during marineford. If whitebeard during his prime was the worlds strongest man and equal to roger then it makes sense that his right hand man is likely to be the strongest. Also I believe his DF is broken in a 1v1 fight but can be underwhelming in Terms of DC which is where he didn't stand out in marineford because he wasn't breaking buildings etc.

marco was introduced in a time where haki was now being described in the story, we dont know what level observation, armament haki marco has. we dont know the true extent of his devil fruit awakening. marco fought blackbeard and got defeated, but sometimes losing also makes a character stronger. it would be nice if we get to see marco in wano to see how much he progressed and how his haki level really is after the time skip. marco was fighting on par wit admirals pre time skip so he has to be crazy strong. being a phenoix and having that kind of regeneration combined with haki naturally makes you a monster.

But we also have to consider that some devil fruits give you defensive advantage like Bartolomeo's barrier or Pekomamushi's turtle fruit. And Marco's fruit could be just like that.
