Very cool! It would be awesome if you made the legs and feet with soft rubber and actually cast wire inside the legs and feet as well as the toes so that the entire leg, feet and toes could articulate and hold shape just like the tail. That would be the ultimate trex, one that has natural looking feet with no joints/seams, that had wired rubber feet that could wrap around things, conform to objects, etc.

Wish people did all this work themselves, so they can see how much work it really is and why it priced the way it is. Not many people would be making these for sale if they did the work themselves, or they would go bankrupt by selling it at what they would pay for it. I these are in high demand too, but people have to be patient and not whine so much. I would like to make figures myself, but seeing how whiny people towards Marco, Rod, Justin, and Artic make me inclined to not make any available for sale, or at least very publicly.

Won't it be easier to put the Armature wire in the mold and just cast it along with the rubber in the tail? What kind of rubber is that you're using?

We tried that. It needs to be suspended inside the mould without it touching the sides. For this and other reasons for us it is easier to just rotocast the tail

Seems a bit expensive don’t you think? I mean I get all of that work but once you got the mold it’s kinda easy. I mean I’m no toy maker so I wouldn’t know

No not really. Casting takes time, sometimes casts fail which costs more material. Then there’s clean up which takes weeks. I know the video makes it seem relatively easy but it’s really not. We don’t bother filming most of the cleanup because it takes so long! Also moulds have a lifespan, you can only get so many casts before the mould starts to breakdown and cast poorly. So then we have to mould it all again. I hope this helps you understand the price better

Spray gun? I’m assuming you mean an airbrush? Marco doesn’t use airbrushes for any of his figures! He only uses a spray sealer at the very end but that’s a can.
