Get a *DOG CLICKER,* first thing I did when I heard about it for mistakes, and my workflow allows me to just look for the spikes and take the flubs out, it flows like butter. I even enjoy editing now XD I was starting VO and thinking about audiobooks, but everyone keeps saying it's a lot of work without the mullah, so I believe I changed my mind today. Still will train for the endurance it gives me. So train like I will be doing audiobooks, but without doing them. Use it for e-learning and shorter form jobs!

Ok, but after taking the "flubs" out....how do you put in the correction without it sounding unnatural?

Good stuff Mark. I also do mostly long form narration for eLearning and your tips are right on. It's especially important to get up periodically, walk around, stretch, exercise a bit then get back at it. It is amazing how this helps breathing and delivery. I found that if I sit too long and just crank out file after file I can fall into a boring cadence, and that ain't pretty. Each file must have the right amount of enthusiasm, tone, pace and inflection. A bit of activity every 45 min to hour is about right for me. As far as editing goes, I usually record one file then edit it, label it, save it sequentially then go to the next file. The length of my narrations are about like yours any where from a few seconds to a minute. However, when you have a hundred or more files to do that can take some time, so learning short cuts like you suggest can save time. Always appreciate your suggestions and insight.

Robert Craigo I'm definitely up and wandering every 30 or 40 minutes... usually to the fridge! ;) Thanks for the comment, Robert. All the best!

How do I keep with the flow whenever I need to set a marker or whatever I need to do to show where I slipped up?

The Otakutopian I often say "take two" or pause until I am ready. Helps to identify where I pick up.

Great tips. I have Adobe Audition and I have to pay every year as a subscriber. At the radio station I worked for, we just owned the program. How can I do that?
@vopreneur4 жыл бұрын
kristi michael You can’t own it anymore. Only the subscription model is still for sale, as I understand it.

Switch to iZotope RX. I did and I couldn't be happier. Big chunks of Audition are literally just the code from RX. You'll see "powered by iZotope" in many of the repair features within Audition. iZotope RX Elements is $29 at the moment. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RX7El--izotope-rx-elements
