4:37 be very careful when cutting audio like this, because having a clip ending on high volume and the next frame starting on low volume (or vice versa), MAY cause your audio to POP, or CLICK in the transition. IF that happens, look for an audio effect called CONSTANT POWER (I use Premiere), and drop it between the two audio clips. Mine are 3 frames long. That'll fix the popping sound.

I started KZbin April 2019 in the Diamond painting community, grew to 1000 subs by July 2019… I remained on KZbin consistently until 2021 and grew my channel to just over 10K subscribers… Now in 2024 I want to do a comeback but not just in Diamond painting, I want just be a crafting channel… I am nervous to start though in fear of failing as my editing skills sucked but thanks to this video I think I may be able to edit better then I did before… Thank you

One thing that almost put me off this was that it takes me longer than what you cite, but then I realised you are giving a formula in a very rudimentary way, so as to begin all kinds of best using what you have… you may as well try a little harder at the beginning because everyone is still there at that point. It’s well put.

I’ve recently started my channel and one thing I’ve noticed is the more you interact on KZbin the more viewers you receive. So whilst the quality of the beginning of the video is important if you’re a small channel the focus should be on getting the video out and commenting/liking across other channels.

8:32 - The amount of space on a short that is covered by the title & channel text is WAY bigger than you make it out to be in your graphic. I would say pretty much the whole bottom third of your KZbin short is going to be the title & channel info. So, realistically, you should move your subtitles to below your chin in a talking head video. Just try to get it close the center of the screen without being in the way of the video portion.

Can I add something I just discovered while editing my 1st video I haven't seen done before that I think is a really good idea... If you're using stock video, to avoid it looking generic and boring try to find some animated blip packages online. find blips in the package that are similar & that you like, then color code them to create a unique personalized color style you can use in all your videos (bright purple, red & black etc) and then add them to all stock footage in the future and, sparingly, to the footage of you. This way when people watch your videos they wont lose focus when it goes from you to generic footage because it will feel branded as part of your video theme or style. It also forces you to think about and create a color theme or aesthetic for your channel.

Normal speaking pauses are in 1/4 of a second increments. A normal comma, 1/4, a period 2/4, emphasis pausing and be anything up to one second. Which if you work in a FFS evenly divisible by 4, like 26, then it's super easy to time your pauses.

Music is one of the most important parts of my videos. I can't record things again as they're vlogs, but I can do a lot with editing and music. That's also why I spend around 20 hours on editing a 10-15 minute video... (only to usually get 10-30 watch hours 🙈.... i literally spend more hours on creating the channel than people watching it)

The thing about text in the way of the title is.. when you're brand new, you've no idea the title is going to cover what you've written until it's been uploaded! Poor newbies don't stand a chance.. thankfully we live and learn, and have videos like yours to help 😊

Quick Summary of the 7 mistakes, by GPT-4: 1 Poor Opening Hooks: Not spending enough time on the first 30 seconds of the video. This is crucial as it's the part most viewers will see, determining if they'll keep watching. The suggestion is to "frontload" editing efforts to make the opening as engaging as possible. 2 Overediting: Adding too many edits or effects can overwhelm the audience rather than enhance the viewing experience. The advice is to keep editing simple and only as intensive as necessary to support the content, not overshadow it. 3 Awkward Pauses in Cuts: Failure to properly trim and align cuts can make the video feel disjointed and awkward. Techniques like J-cuts and L-cuts are recommended to make transitions smoother and more natural. 4 Poor Sound Design: Using repetitive or inappropriate sound effects can distract and annoy viewers. Varying sound effects and matching them appropriately to the visual content is suggested to maintain viewer engagement. 5 Inappropriate Music Choices: The background music should match the tone and pace of the video. Incorrect music choices can disconnect the viewer from the content, making the video feel out of sync. 6 Irrelevant Visuals: Including b-roll or graphics that do not relate to the spoken content can confuse viewers. Visuals should always complement and reinforce the topic being discussed. 7 Ineffective Text and Graphics: Text that is hard to read or graphics that clutter the video can detract from the message. Clear, readable text and purposeful graphics are essential to communicate effectively with the audience.

Assuming we finally wanna become youtuber and assuming all of the personal video and livestreams we uploaded have no strike. Should I just restart and create a new one and just private the previous old videos? Will it get considered in YPP application? Or rebranding is much better
