The Raiders ran different playcalling with Mariota than they did with Carr for this game because they had good coaches that can adjust their playcalling to different lineups. Also that they had practiced enough for those sets of plays that help Mariota thrive.

I think it's the lack of talent on D ( trading away Future HoFer Khalil Mack really hurt the pass rush but the Pass Coverage is heinous ) and possibly a bad defensive scheme. We'll never know until something changes, new players or defensive coordinator.

Dude balled this game trying to keep the Raiders in the race last year. Dude is a warrior. He lays it on the line and his flaw in TN was the ulnar nerve and being gun shy ultimately and eating sacks. To be very honest, Titans fan saw much better Mariota games. At one point, he was thought of as THE GUY and arguably a top 5 QB for them. Hell, he was even throwing no-look TD passes that were just ridiculous.

I'm from Oregon. I watched Mariota and Herbert each college game they played. Mariota has been dissed and it looks like he's creating a new game for himself. Herbert and Mariota have a deep respect for each other and this game was the perfect opportunity for Mariota to reclaim his talent. Great game from two great quarterbacks!

Look, the raiders can see how Mariota can play against a team who is expecting a player to be playing so carr being out was probably not a part of the game plan for the chargers, with that being said let Mariota play against the dolphins and see who Mariota really is and from there we can determine if Mariota is the guy but carr is a good qb and a lot of people forget that the offense wasn't the issue yes we have some bad play calling but that's not carr it's the coaching and the defense will make a team win if not played correctly. The defense is the issue not the qb but it was nice seeing Mariota play, it was exciting and was way different Mariota did awesome and I hope he can start with us or another team he deserves it thus far
