Actually the addition of Ray J helped kill the show. All of a sudden you had this fake Fresh Prince thing going on plus what really jumped the shark for everyone was the reveal that Frank was Dorian"s father. After that the show fell apart and it got cancelled with no last episode.

I love The Parkers too. I know most say it was negative stereotypes (which is was), but it also had some balance of smarts, African American history telling in some episodes, real life situations telling, and overall just a fun, get together, laugh out loud sitcom. I have the complete DVD boxset so I know. If you can look at it in those perspectives, then you'll see that The Parkers was great, funny, for the African American culture, & sadly we won't get sitcoms like those (from 90s & early 2000s) anymore.
@Ubothered Жыл бұрын
It was majorly stereotypes. The struggle love, nicki crazy and stalking the professor who constantly baretes her even though she would drop everything to take care of him. When she finally found someone who loves her fir her, she ended up with the man who was so fucking happy she wasn't pregnant after he used her body to warm himself up. Maje it seems like black women get involve in everybody's business, when in reality majority of black women mind their own damn business. It was pathetic and that's coming from someone who bange on all the seasons.

I always looked up to Brandy however, Brandy was always known to have a nasty attitude even before Moesha. Countess had been acting when she was a child on 227 so she wasn’t new to the game. I blame Brandy’s mother for her attitude because Brandy also had been this way when she was on the show Thea. He sounded like he was on point until he referred to Countess as hood and said more people related to her. I never thought of Countess as hood, "urban" I guess. I also felt like most young girls related to either being Moesha or Niecy as being either the IT girl, wanting to be the IT girl, fantasizing yourself being the IT girl or being Niecy the kind of side kick. I don't think most people related to being Kim, the funny, ditzy one with big personality or "hood" as he stated. But I've never worked on a set or in a writer's room so maybe I could be wrong.
@misterbee66 Жыл бұрын
I honestly related to Kim more because her role was more believable and convincing. Moesha was more the typical, expected role.

I related to Kim more because I'm just a socially awkward girl but goofy n funny. Not the sharpest but I have a big personality 😊

We should be building each other, because we have a shared adversary. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen as often. For example, it's disheartened to see the criticism is getting from black folks, even though he was trying to raise awareness for the improvement of black folks in regard to racial inequality and police brutality.
