@2000ICANA Exactly! It's not about the country you were born in,but the culture you grew up in. Like Merlin and so many others,I was born in NYC to Dominican parents,and while I'm an American citizen,that's the only "American" thing about me (and there's no shortage of Americans,both Black and White,who go out of their way to remind us that we're "not real Americans". On the other side of the coin,you have Dominicans who tell us we're not "real Dominicans" because we live in the US). Still, I grew up in a Dominican household, speaking Spanish as my first language, living the Dominican culture, eating the food, listening to and dancing to the music, knowing the history. If you did all these things,YOU ARE DOMINICAN, wherever you were born or live. Merlin was one of us! 🇩🇴
@hotpopcorncake Жыл бұрын
@@2000ICANA Na , you aren't Dominican, you're Dominican American. Because you can't relate the problem with people in the Dominican republic and know it history and so on. Like Cardi b alot people thinks that Dominican, She just a Dominican American and trini from people from Trinidad Tobago..Just Asian American can't relate with Chinese people in China. So that doesn't make them fully Chinese.

So based on that rationale yall all saying her social skills is the same as a grown woman 🤷🏾♂️ and Merlin being a grown ahh man didn't figure that out just from casual conversation.... So yall excusing the fact he doesn't know the difference between a woman and a minor, my cousin is 16 and she look 21 but once she start talking you'll quickly figure out this a little girl who's probably mature for her age but still young in the mind
@Nille0212 Жыл бұрын
@@kingreg440 it's definitely possible. At 5 I had a higher IQ and behaved more like an adult than most adults in my immediate circle both family members and friends, and adults that I'd just met. Just because she was young doesn't mean that she could not have passed for an adult. Especially as time as gone on. The girls don't have a tween stage anymore. They go from Geranimals at Walmart to shopping online on Pretty Little Things just like the adults who wear the same size. They're wearing full sets of nails and bust down wigs at 13. So you have a hard time telling the difference between a child and an adult. As well as adults are acting more like teenagers than the teens!!! So yes, I can absolutely believe he didn't know her true age based on looks and behaviors. Why doesn't that seem possible to you? Even in the early 2000s, it's definitely possible for a teen to pass for an adult and it not be questioned. I was only a few years older than her when this happened so I can definitely understand why he would've thought she was an adult. As well as, you didn't really question a person's age back then either. Times were completely different from now and more people took things at face value than questioning everything as we do now.
