I was in the national park service when mare island was closing, we would go to the sub barracks and get all the furnishings the navy would let us have, and just about anything we wanted, maked many trips getting stuff

Sad to see Mare Island reduced to rubble. It’s rich naval history hits home for me and many others.

@@sparksmediagroupPerhaps industry and office will come to fill these here empty lots. And it will be good, bringing jobs to the City of Vallejo, essentially bringing it back to its once place.

@@b3n583 I grew up in Vallejo from 1970-80 and my childhood memories of that area were great, now when I pass through I don’t even recognize it anymore, sad.

@@juniordelgiorno5260 I’m still growing up here. It was so shocking to see Mare Island & Vallejo change. First I saw Old Navy become Toys R Us then become City Sport. It was unfortunate Faraday Future didn’t come, it would have shocked me as a teen.
