I have been using them in my art for many, many years. There are also bags that you can fill yourself, so they don't have the tea stain colour. If you cover the whole bag with glue, it gets a glassy effect. It is quite translucent. I stick pictures on or paint pictures in my teabags. They I save them as ephemera for when I make cards or journal pages. I have even used the bought teabags and made a miniature book out of them. The bought ones are much bigger. ❤❤

I love using teabags as a background. I have a friend who paints little miniature paintings on a single bag. I have also used the tea as texture. Just sprinkle it onto white glue on your piece of art and let it dry. You can paint over it.

This is a wonderful way to reuse teabags. I love the little papyrus type rolls you made . I think they are an artwork on their own. I intend to try something similar using a stick , instead of toilet rolls, and I might write poetry on the paper. I have been using cheap brown paper sold as a painter/ decorator supply , to make a scroll. Absolutely stunning! Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing your ideas.

I've done this with napkins, tissue paper, and cheese cloth. But not tea bags!!!! Great idea I will try it. I used 2/3 PVA & 1/3 water. I bushed onto thick plastic bag. I even did with just the glue/water mixture, and it peeled right off. I save the tea to mix with medium for texture or sprinkle on medium for faux handmade paper. I love how techniques are using tea bags. Great idea!!! TFS Austin TX USA

I drink a ton of tea, so I started saving the teabags and emptying them ages ago. You can reuse the tea leaves to dye your papers after you empty them out. It works great. Plus there are so many things you can do with the empty tea bags. Love this! And the toilet paper roll tip is great. 😍

As an only tea drinker I'd like to tell you, that different tea gives different colored tea bags. Black tea will give you a classic brown. Green tea is a lighter color something between yellow and green. Fruit infusion tea will give you a red hue. Herbal tea goes from yellow to green, depending on the herbs. And if you like the taste, try mate tea! If you lay the used bags on a plate and let them rest for a while staying wet they will get really dark. You get a pattern if you scrunch them a little. Any tea bag can get a deeper shade and some pattern if you scrunch them and let them stay wet for a few hours before drying. But mate tea changes the color the most. Green mate tea has a lighter taste if you don't like mate tea

I don't drink tea much, but I have a lot of it; this would be a good way to use them. Would I just steep them as if I was going to drink them, then dry them out, toss the leaves (well, I'll put them in my garden), then open up the bags and do what you've done? How long does it take to dry a teabag with the tea still in it? I also have round teabags - how can I utilize them?

This is a great way to use tea bags.Thanks Marta I thought there must be a way to use them…now I know there is! Also can I ask an unrelated question on this page? I looked through your info but can’t see where I should ask. It’s to do with my brayer…I used it for first time and washed between coats and gave it a thorough cleaning before leaving it to dry. When I went to get it again the rubber roller is sticky! I cleaned it again but it’s still sticky and unusable. Is there a way to restore it and what did I do wrong ? Thank you in advance and sorry for not posting on ?site.🌹
