Such a bright, happy, pretty page Barbie! To me the MM collages are just for fun. I watch about 5 different artists and the part I enjoy the most is seeing each artist interpretation of the prompts combined with their personal collage style. Art does not need to have a purpose. I like the M.M collages because I like semi abstract art, so to me they don't have to have anything in common, I enjoy looking for the items, and I like putting them all together to make an art page. I must have an abstract brain as I love both of Lewis Carol's books, Alice in Wonderland, and Alice through the looking Glass lol. This does not mean to say I don't like art that makes sense. Everyone is individual, but as long as you enjoy what you do I don't think it matters at all how you do this, or how it turns out. As a full time carer, and I'm 76 yrs of age, and have been a carer since my daughter was born nearly 56 yrs ago, these videos are my little life lines of relaxing sanity. So I thank all of you that do this to give us your time xxx

Christine, I am 73 this June and I too am a carer. I care for my partner who has dementia. I am also confined to a wheelchair but as long as my loved one is able to stand I am able to continue to be a carer. Watching a handful of KZbin people doing collaging is my little peaceful oasis in an otherwise tough day. God bless you. xx

I like the MM Challenge because it does make me think out of the box. I have to use images that I don't use otherwise. Like you, I like themes and the prompts don't always bring unity. It is a fun change. I keep all of the challenges in one book. I enjoy your channel.

The MM Collages prompts are different with nothing really going together and you are so creative and I love the way you come up with a collage. Have watched other artists doing MM Collages and you are the best by far and now I only watch your ones. You make a story of the collage or otherwise just make it interesting with some story or other.

Barbie, this is a lovely page this week. Beautiful images and tell a story. A story is not that important to me, it’s about the collage. I can only speak for myself but I like Margarite Millar challenges because I am not good at building a story with my collages. I like to have the prompts as it does help me a lot to collage. I am fascinated watching all your collages and I think I might be able to do your Collage is for the Birds but I love to watch you build a whole story with your collages. My imagination is not that great so I envy anyone who can collage like you and others can. It’s a steep learning curve for me and I appreciate all collages whatever their style or reason for doing them. I hope one day to be able to make a decent collage that I can feel proud of. Dorothy, your compliment is very flattering BUT .. please DO NOT go down that road saying you do not have a good imagination. There is no need to tell a story with these collages ........ I make them up as I go along 🤣🤣 The entire point of collaging is to have fun, be creative, learn what works, i.e. colors, shapes, flowers with birds, flowers with fish, etc. I tend to use lots of flowers in my collages b/c that's what I feel comfortable with. There are times where I feel I'm not doing anything new, just the same old flowery collage piece. 🌼🌺🌻I'm sure you're collages are wonderful and NEVER compare your work to someone else. I use to fall into that trap and I would get so depressed .......... my son has been a good coach for me in that regard. He has taught me to do ME and everything else will fall into place. I am lucky, Dorothy, b/c my father was a painter and sketch artist so I have part of him, YET ...... when I pick up a paintbrush for watercolor or drawing ...... those two arts can bring me to tears. My son was gifted with my dads drawing and painting skills. 🖌🎨 draw on tips and trick from others and just have fun. I'm so happy you enjoy the videos and if there is anything you'd like to ask, learn or do please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I don't faithfully do the MM challenges but on days when nothing is working out or I begin to feel frustrated, I put aside my project and do one of MM's challenges. It helps me get the muse back. Probably because I don't have any worries about if the art looks weird because I am just following prompts. I also enjoy others interpretation and it helps me think how I could improve what I used or came up with. And since it goes in a separate book I don't worry if I dont like how the collague came out. I enjoy using up items that I just have sitting around. Sometimes the collagues are really good and I surprise myself 😊

Lana, thank you so much for sharing how you work with the MM collages. I think that's a brilliant idea to go to them when another project is causing you problems. LOVE THAT ........ I'm sure after working with the MM your other project comes easier to you with more creative ideas. 💙 I like seeing what others do as well...i.e. a postage stamp vs. a rubber stamp etc. My favorite part of her collage challenge is like you, using items I normally wouldn't think of or ephemera sitting around collecting dust. It's a shame we have so many pretty items that get ignored, I think that's why I've changed over to collage art. I find it so satisfying. 💙 Have a wonderful day and a blessed week. One of your MM challenge videos popped into my recommended videos, so that is how I found you! Your precision process intrigued me, as did the quirky prompts. That combination got me to creating again. I had found myself wanting to do something, but no idea what, so this gave me a starting place. I enjoy the 'stories' you create with these unrelated items. So now I'm hooked on all your videos!! I did a glue book once. It's kind of like an analog Pinterest! 😊

Barbie this is such a fun sunshiny page. I just love how this one came together. My niece has a little garden house similar to what is in your collage. It is adorable. Your answer about the MM challeng e is very good. The prompts are diffinately meant to be random. Margarete even has a set of collaged cards she has made you can purchase from Etsy. Each card has a prompt. This is so you can pull random prompts for yourself using her deck of cards. I have to apologize 😢 I said in my latest bird collage video the # using challenge instead of collage. I have it correct in my title and description though. Have a great week gf ❤

I do them to expand my creative abilities. It also gives me a chance to look thru my stuff so I always have a general idea of what I have and where it is! Personally, I favor the MM Challenge videos because I am also doing the challenge and I am curious to see what other people come up with. I like the other collage videos as well, but I am not as invested in them because I am not making one too. Some weeks I am able to watch all your collage videos, but if I only have time for 1, I will choose the MM one every time.

I love your summer design and want to visit the garden in the picture I think that’s how I found you in the first place was to M&Ms challenge. Love watching your videos crossword and I just started watching your bird ones Sometimes with MM I wish she would come up with something different as❤ a prompt as a lot of them seem to be the same as the year before . But I do enjoy making them❤ take care of your foot and it’ll get better soon I know how painful it can be as i a broke toe a while ago😅

I've talked with a few others and they think the same thing. I think that's why I can't get that excited this time around. I'm so happy you found me and I have to ask, are you on IG where I can see your collage art? 💗 Thank you for your well wishes and the 'ole foot is getting there but I feel it's going to be a few more weeks for it to do what it needs to do. I am just getting into collage and I really enjoy it. I'm a creative painter but want to branch out. I have made a couple of collages that I think turned out nicely. However I am quite frustrated with the glue &/or gesso making my page wrinkle. Do I need to use heavy watercolor paper?

Debbie, I don't think you need watercolor paper unless you are using watercolor paints and want to create a mixed media collage. That would get really expensive. I only use Art Glitter glue - Nuvu Deluxe Adhesive (which I love) and a Scotch Brand Permanent Glue Stick. Also double sided tape for larger background images. I very rarely use any type of Gesso or Mod Podge on my collage and I never cover them with any type of liquid matte glue on the top. Also, when I use a shiny magazine image I only glue the very edge of the image. I have a couple good videos on how I collage and talk about why I use certain glues, where I glue the images etc. You might want to take a look at them. They would be some of the surreal collages I've done. 💚 I hope this helps you, you'll find what works best for you. Hang in there and just have fun. xoxo
