In a 2013 referendum, like 99% of the residents in the Falklands voted to be under British rule, with only 3 voting to be under Argentine rule. If the people want it that way, leave it that way. They're happy with the British, so let the British rule them.

Sheeple Barn that was epic the royal marine commander was told to make a small token resistance he was said have replied “sod that, I’ll give them a a bloody nose” and so they took out several argie commandos, helicopter and the royal marine sniper managed to take out a guy in the bridge of their ship, one royal marine with an LMG give the ship a right hammering, is little surprise that of the few Royal marines who surrendered the argie always treated them very well as they respected them and didn’t having to go up against them as they always got a right going over, by even a small clutch of them. One of the issues argies had is they don’t have ten experience of the British in fighting wars and some of the best trained fighting soldiers in the world.

Oh right, I am Argentinian, Falkland Islands belong to Great Britain but there's no need to insult. Argentinians shold stop doing it and British shouldn't do it, either. The past is gone. You won the war, oh right they are yours. I don't like when people here say 'Las Malvinas son argentinas' which means 'The Falklands belong to Argentina' because IT IS NOT TRUE! We lost the war. Do people speak Spanish in the Falklands? They don't. Do people use the 'Argentinian peso' over there? They don't. THE CULTURE IS BRITISH. So, I wish they would stop making unreal comments. I have nothing against my country but against those people who insist that these Islands are Argentinian and it's clear they are not!!

Tony England do you not know the history of that war.The Only reason the US first started supporting Argentina was because they are in the part of the world where the United States needs to control that area. Secondly after the conflict was escalating the United States supported Britain because even they knew that what Argentina did was not good at all and also if the US continued supporting Argentina there would not have been any British ships on this side of the world because everyone knew who the real world power was at that time.

The USA, through Haig, wanted to give the impression they were supporting Britain while doing the exact reverse and camouflaging support for Argentina with the end result of the Falkland Islands being under Argentinian authority. From Argentina I respect the United Kingdom, it hurts me as a single war already wasted the great respect and friendship that had been formed decades ago because thanks to the British, the Germans, the French, the Spanish and the Italians we were able to create our infrastructure. This is the fault of the dictatorship and Peronism that have only worsened our relations with other countries and also our country, socially and economically, greetings and strength to overcome the Covid

The sad thing is, that a brutal Argentinian military junta started this conflict to stay in power. A junta which has murdered many more Argentinian civilians than military personel was lost in combat with the UK. Why most Argentinians saw the military aggression as some sort of patriotic enterprise is a riddle. Not only was it started by a brutal and illegitimate government, but Argentina's claim to the Falklands is no more reasonable than their claim to say, the Maldives would be. It is true, that the Falklands being British is the result of colonialism. Yet this is utterly meaningless, as Argentina is also the result of colonialism. And so is each and every other country in South and North America.

when you have Argentines bitching about Britain. I'm sorry you only lasted a month in a war with Britain who may I remind you had no help from NATO even though they offered it. The Falklands are British and are recognised by the UN as being British. Britain have the 4th most powerful military on the planet and the best trained troops on the planet. We don't even need to talk about nuclear weapons because we can destroy Argentinas armed forces with just our conventional forces. By 2020 the UK will have 2 Supercarriers in service able to project British power anywhere on the globe. Argentina have no hope of seizing the Falklands permanently because us British are too powerful for them.

pablo tacain resort to calling someone a Nazis because you can't back your statements up with facts. a better word to call me was an imperialist. it's not a matter of where the islands lie it's a matter of who lives on them. the citizens of the Falklands are British not Argentine and they have had a referendum under United Nations rules declaring their wish to remain a British overseas territory. with the election of Donald Trump relations with Russia will more than likely improve and currently British relations with China are very good. if only Argentina was still a colony. we've beat your Spanish masters countless times and we've beaten you with ease. Britain is a country is a country with a history of resilience and strength. Argentina is a country with a history of being beaten by Britain and a country that cries to the international community who quite frankly don't care because they'd rather have good relations with Britain than help you. Finally if South America was to be left in anyone's hands it would be Brazils but again Britain has no intention of leaving the Falklands so deal with it.

Sounds like Imperialism if you look at it...
@joshbroadhurst212
@joshbroadhurst212 7 жыл бұрын
pablo tacain Britain don't want it for oil. The only reason we keep and defend the Falklands is because they chose in a referendum to remain an overseas territory of the UK. The moment they reject British rule is the moment Britain gives them up. I'm sorry if Argentine rule is so unattractive to them compared to British rule. The majority of nations side with the UK in this dispute so instead of being bitter about the fact Britain control the Falklands and we kicked your ass during the Falklands war, grow up and deal with it instead of singing the praises of a 4th rate power in Latin America thinking it comes close to the UK. News flash the UK is better. The Falkland Islanders know it and so does the rest of the world.

Argentines .. Going to war with a superpower like Britain is like grabbing a hammer and striking it on your own head. It was an utterly stupidity on your part

368 attacking argentine military died! Get is right! If they had stayed out of other countries land, and not tried to steal it, they would NOT have died!

Not just a NATO country, a NUCLEAR POWER NATO country! As an American, I just sat in disbelief when I first learned about the Falklands War. Argentina's invasion will go down as one of the DUMBEST FRICKIN MOVES in warfare history!

Scrolling down these comments and literally everyone who’s Defending Thatcher is southern and wasn’t impacted by her reforms! Thatcher was the best prime minister that the *SOUTH* of England ever had.

Listening to Thatcher's voice, Gillian Anderson's acting in The Crown, although good, seems caricaturesque and not really hitting on the mark. MT was far more subtle and educated.
