Love this video! Just recently found your channel and I quickly subscribed! :) I am newly married (almost a year and a half of marriage now) and the number one thing I have learned is that my husband cannot read my mind and I cannot read his mind (and we shouldn’t try to read one another’s minds!!). We get to communicate our expectations which is such a blessing!! Communicating helps us be on the same team so when tough stuff comes our way, we can go through it together instead of feeling like we are against one another. Of course we are very imperfect at this, so the other thing I have learned is that forgiveness is one of the most powerful things we do for one another. It teaches us to love one another even more! 💛

oh thank you!! I appreciate it so much. And oh, such a good one! That was a huge lesson we had to learn as well. But you said it so beautifully. We're all imperfect, yes. Gosh yes. Forgiveness in marriage has shown me more of Christs love than anything else. Love your words, truly!! Thanks so much for sharing.

Time off is one of the most important things in a healthy relationship. It doesn't matter if you need it or if he needs it. You need a long walk all alone no kids no calls just alone time. He needs to have time off for playing video games with friends. Give eachother this time. No interruptions, no messages, no calls it will change you're Life

Love this video! I’ve been married for almost 4 years. In the beginning of our marriage I was doing all the wrong things and our marriage was miserable. I learnt to shut my mouth, pray and let God do the changing and oh man have things improved! We have both changed SO much and I feel like we are a team now. The power of a praying wife is the BEST book for prayers for your husband!!

Ah this is so beautiful. Beautiful because I had a very similar experience. Marriage is humbling and absolutely necessary when looking back right? THat's at least what I say. Gosh, I don't know where I'd be if I wasn't forced to learn these lessons. Ah so good. Thanks for sharing Kate!
@katebrown57773 жыл бұрын
It sure is humbling! I think the same thing, if it wasn’t for my pastor’s wife counselling me,I don’t know where I would be..probably divorced. She told me some hard truths about myself that I needed to change and pray about in order to be the wife my husband needed me to be
@margaretmatheny3 жыл бұрын
@@katebrown5777 Man I feel every part of that. Truly nothing changed until I took a deep look at myself and my faults that I was refusing to bring to the surface. So good!

I am reading The Power of a Praying Wife currently! Wow. Convicting!! Thank you both for sharing how it helped you! I want to try out the Wife Project, but maybe a little later. :) (I’m reading a lot of books right now) I’ve only been married for a little over a year, so I want to learn this now, instead of after years of regrets and whatnot. Thanks again! Hannah

Every relationship looks close to perfect to an outsider. All you need to do is scratch the surface. ❤️
@margaretmatheny3 жыл бұрын
Amen to that. It's never intended to be perfect. More so a journey of growth with one another. My momma said that to me in the first year of marriage when we were in a rough patch. I'll never forget it. Your words are so beautiful too. Thank you.

I love the way you are very real about life. I'm not married, but I have a boyfriend and what I've learned is to ignore my ego and let me be vulnerable and communicate with him, and it helps a lot especially talking about it...not yelling. Thank you for the video, I hope your channel grows a healthy-minded person is a nice influence on others.

Wow, hadn’t gotten this much value in a video in a while, thanks for making it! One thing the hubby and I do is being intentional about sharing many things throughout or at the end of the day and asking each other how’s this how was that how do you feel what do you think etc, so that we’re in the loop of where our headspace is at and don’t slowly drift apart and wake up one day feeling distanced or like strangers - based on “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide from the Country's Foremost Relationship Expert” (haven’t read the other chapters yet lol)

So many good ones! Have you ever read Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas...currently reading now and SOOOO good! The tagline is "What if God designed marriage to make us holy more than to make us happy?" Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy, but I think it's because I know who to put first and ahead of us. I have been married before and my ex cheated on me and was abusive. I met my now husband when my mother was dying of brain cancer. There is no doubt that he was sent by God - I also have never grown more in my relationship with God than since I met him (and I'm a preacher's daughter!) Gratitude and contentment are definitely things I have been working on and I have found that these practices have helped my marriage and my relationship with God.

Woah, that's such a beautiful story of Gods faithfulness. Thanks for sharing that. I couldn't agree more. I've never read that book, I'll put it on my list right now. That tagline is powerful wow. Powerful because both Tate and I can testify to that. Cannot wait to read! Thank you.

This has been, by far, my most favorite video of yours (and that’s saying something cuz I LOVE every single one of your videos!) because I love learning about how I can learn to love the man God gave me even better and harder every single day. It is a joy to get to know this person who I never knew for 18 years of my life and now I get to spend the rest of my life with him! Thank you for sharing how the Lord changed you *and* your marriage! God bless, Hannah

My husband & I just celebrated our 18th anniversary earlier this week. We laugh a lot. A Wife Project sounds interesting! Our biggest lesson learned was to be in unity for the decisions that mattered to both of us; not his way, not my way - but to wait and/or figure a solution that we both could agree & feel peaceful about. God works through our unity. It's been great!

We are coming up on our 20th and I agree with all that you say!💛 Every few years I start a new "pray for your hubby book" to read through each day. I have been using "Thirty-One Prayers For Your Husband" for a couple years and before that it was "Praying For Your Husband From Head to Toe" (I think that was the title!) and we were given the book you mention for our wedding!...so many good ones out there! You have a new subbie in me! Keep up the wonderful videos!💛
