I just bought the Jim Bowie Prime with the pizza oven last week and did my first pizza. Turned out amazing. Sprinkle corn meal on the pizza peel, put your stretched dough on the peel and then build your pizza, it makes it so much easier. I had the smoker set to 290 and the pizza stone was reading 833 degrees, 2 minutes and the pizza was done!

Corn meal was what we used in college at the pizza place I worked at. Seems to slide off easier and I personally like the crispy crunch it gives the crust. Overall not bad, and nobody even called the fire department. 🔥 Another great video from D Grill!

Cornmeal on the wood or metal peal! It helps a lot getting the pizza off. Or bread of you cook that too. Paper Burns at 451 degrees. I do appreciate you showing where it doesn't go as planned.

Hey mate, great video. Try using semolina flour on the pizza tray, under the pizza. Easy to slide off.

I love it. Semolina flour on your peel and the crust will roll right off, plus it doesn't burn like regular flour.

Couple tips for you. Once you sauce the pizza you have to move fast as the sauce will make it sticky. Jiggle the peel Before you you try to insert it into the oven. If it isn't jiggling then you need to flour it underneath. Great video

No, wood is a very bad idea when playing with this level of heat. And I have a wood peel pizza, it can stick to them too. You can see some of the later videos in the playlist that's less of an issue. Just a matter of not having it sitting on it long and good flour underneath.

@@alexandersazama5796 Before this whole Pizza Oven thing, I probably would have said the Rec Tec Bull. But it has no pizza oven attachment. And while Camp Chef has some grills that reach 900 degrees, you pay in pellets for that. With the GMG Pizza Oven Attachment, I reach 850 degrees while only burning pellets to cook at just 430 degrees. So this Pizza Oven attachment has really changed the game in GMG's favor for me. I just cooked up a pizza for one of my boys today. It's so easy. And I've got more in the works for Pizza Oven videos than just pizza. Although, there is more pizza too 🤣 . Lord willing, I'll be coming with a lot of things that you would get from a Wood Fired brick oven. Going well over 500 degrees into the 800+ degree territory changes everything. I don't feel GMG makes the most "long lasting" grills. I already showed the wear on mine, in the _One Year Later_ video. But I'm enjoying this Pizza Oven so much and nobody has one this nice. 👍🏿

Oh regarding Camp Chef, their sear station reaches 900° F. And it's propane powered. I was mistaken thinking it was part of Pellet power. And that's just a small searing area, not a pizza oven. They have a pizza oven add on, but it only reaches 700+, not the 850° F. range. So I am stuck on GMG at the moment.

Semolina (corn meal)! Put some on your wooden peel, put the pie on it and build it there. When done, try to see if the pizza moves freely on the semolina (they work like little ball bearings) it should move back and forth on the peel with little effort. If it doesn't, then you'll have a problem moving it into the oven. If the pizza moves, you're all set. This has to be done just prior to moving it to the oven, don't let it sit on the peel for any length of time. Move the pizza around in the oven with the metal peel or better yet, a long handled spatula. The smaller size is ideal for turning the pizza, as the GMG's peel (use it only to remove pizza) is a little big for this maneuver. I hope this helps and cheers, keep on grilling!

While I appreciate your concern and recommendations. No and no. If Costco doesn't sell it in a large 25+ pound bag for cheap, I don't buy the flour. The seconds spent getting something off a pizza peel is nothing to me. And I like just using a single peel. Again, whatever hassle you see during the cook is nothing to me. The end result tastes great and for me, that's all that really matters 😋👍🏿

you can also use cornmeal instead of flour to get pizza off the pan. also the less toppings you use the easier it will be to move the pizza

It's a matter of personal preference. I _loathe_ the taste of the cooked corn meal. Flour is the all day winner for me 🙂

Hey...DGrill, make your own authentic Italian pizza sauce. It tastes better than processed sauce. You’re already using real buffalo mozzarella. Just add the basil leaves. It's all good. I prefer the flavor of flour over cornmeal when cooking this hot. The cornmeal leaves a more_burnt_ flavor to me 👍🏿 Figured I would try that _paper trick_ once to see what would happen 🤣
