Without doubt my favourite way of fishing for carp, even over floater fishing. Something special about watching a float bob and weave before it rips away

This is how my grandfather learned me how to fish when I was seven. I'm 42 now and having fished for tons of species all across Europe, I still seem to enjoy this the most. So simple, yet so rewarding. I'm going out to teach my son how to fish on the float next week. Probably my favourite trip ever.

a great video phil...fishing the lift for carp..i fished it in my teens and still fish it now...we call it catching carp the proper way in my neck of the woods...cant beat the buzz..ya get when ya hook em! tight lines .......
@gee38836 ай бұрын
So much more enjoyable than sitting behind buzzers .My kinda fishing.This and surface baits, I turned up at a lake once and all the other angles where at on end sitting behind three rods/boilies/bivis etc none of them catching. I walked to the other end, one rod ,landing net, loaf of crusty bread, found the carp, four doubles. Don't mind if I do, lol.

Love the video thanks. Did Phil consider using a hair rigged mini boilie and wrapping the paste around that to get less hook pulls? Works for me with Chub on a ledger so wonder if it would work with this method?
@AnglingDirectTV9 ай бұрын
Hello Eddie, It was odd to suffer from so many hook pulls on this occasion? Maybe the jinx of the camera 😆 But a great suggestion, I've wrapped paste around a hair rigged cork ball before on a hair and it's worked well for Chub. Regards Phil,

Excellent watch as always phill I’ll be giving this method a try for certain as I highly doubt it’s been used there before so could be a real winner, regarding the 10lb line is that floating or sinking
@AnglingDirectTV9 ай бұрын
Hello Liam, A sinking line is better as it prevents the float being dragged out of position in the wind 👍 Good luck Regards Phil
