No Ben. there loads of not so good expander pellets out there, but has you know we can change them by adding oils and things what’s your take on it.plus do coloured ones work. I personally would like them to stay on the hook till I see the float disappear with a lump on.but??

I'll do a little video Monday for you mate when I do my match report, end of the day you want some decent expanders in the first place though

By far the best explanation of margin fishing I've ever seen. Ben how many maggots would you feed, and are all your baits hooked (maggots clearly) on the hook, or banded or hair rigged please? Corn, meat example on a hair or on the hook direct please? Brilliant work, would you be a teacher by chance?
@bentownsendangling34864 жыл бұрын
Thanks Richard! Volume of bait is all dependent on venue and conditions, and the head of silvers, the margins are generally quite an attacking area of the peg so I don't like to feed too lightly, you'll soon know if your feeding enough when they arrive, as soon as bites stop its time to feed again. Always hook straight onto hook in the margins, I don't like the hook being exposed as it would be hair rigging as its asking for foulhooking fish. Definetely not a teacher mate, other than angling coaching.

@@bentownsendangling3486 Hook in the bait could solve some of my foul hooking problems, thanks Ben for taking the time to answer, big help.
@peterleicester47014 жыл бұрын
I obviously don’t feed enough, I feed for a fish. Im frightened of giving them to many options and want them to choose my bait as Jamie Hughes shows in some of his videos. My problem is if i have a can of corn i will probably have some left which i suppose is not enough to attract and keep them mooching about. I generally fish Monks lakes in Kent . So I will try when i next go to man up a bit. I will start as you suggested and then feed heavier as the day progresses .
@bentownsendangling34864 жыл бұрын
Some big fish at monks that can quickly get through your feed mate, give it a go

Ben, would you fish over silt at this time of year (down the middle of a snake lake)and if so what rigs, bait?
@bentownsendangling34864 жыл бұрын
Ideally if I was planning on fishing on deck on a snake lake in summer it would be just up near and far shelf so I had a harder bottom. That being said I've caught well beneath my shallow line in the silt before, but on a whole try and fish just out of the silt

Are you ever concerned about using elastics rated higher than your pole?
@bentownsendangling34864 жыл бұрын
Depends what your doing with the elastic mate, for dragging them out of snags with heavy elastic id always use a power pole, for playing them normally not so concerned, all down to experience of knowing how hard you can pull i guess
