This is great country music. It's very authentic and classic. Even her voice could stand alongside the voices of Dolly, Loretta, and Patsy. The story of the lyrics is very personal, too.

my mom just sold her house due to money trouble it was passed down 3 generations so that line "i wanna buy back the farm and bring my momma home some wine" speaks to me so much god bless you for giving me a song to work out this recent blow to our family. helping me to be calm and positive.
@Claudia_Crimson_5855 ай бұрын
One of my dad's sisters or something sold their parents home after their mother died and they are still hurt by what she did. Their late dad built the second floor of the house and the house was very special to them but she took it away from them. She probably did it just for the money. That part of the song reminds me of that. It's just sad, the house was very sentimental to them.

Wow... For many years I've said I don't care for country... well I mean't modern country that sounds like worn out predictable sappy crappy twangy rock. But Margo Price your sounds is real, real like good ole old country and southern rock did years ago. I'm grateful I found you :)

In the History of my life only a few artists have stopped me dead in my tracks the moment I first heard their voice, because you could actually feel they are the real McCoy because they sang straight from the heart. Those Artists are: Elvis Presley, Don McLean, Loretta Lynn, Jim Croce, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Patsy Cline, Harry Chapin, Billy Joel, Eagles, and now, Margo Price. Bravo well done! It is both an honor and a pleasure to hear you!

There's that scene in "Walk the Line" where Sam Phillips basically tells Johnny Cash to sing as if the song he were recording was both the first and last thing anyone might here from him -- a song that tells the world who he was. That scene probably never happened in real life, but when I listen to this song from Margo, I feel like she took that advice. This song lays it all out there. First song on her debut album, and it announces that this young lady is here, and she's a force to be reckoned with.

Spooky. The video shows all the elements of contemporary feelgood country-farm, football, rodeo, small town, water tower, driving a pickup, riding a horse, family phots-but the tone is claustrophobic and dark. The “playing the guitar in the bedroom” shot especially chokes me. We need this song, but if Margo and all of us don’t find a way to move on we’re in trouble.
