It is time to revisit this Bruce Hornsby chart topping song. I am still optimistic about its message despite the ugly and horrific headlines we have today. Thirty years after its release I still say "But don't you believe them". This slower version brings the late Laura Nyro to mind. The social injustice lyrics also seem like something she would embrace. Margot is primarily an actor and if she seems familiar you might have seen and heard in "Boardwalk Empire" where she had a prominent role as a singer.

First of all, she has a lovely and beautiful voice. I just watched an interview with her and,....Why would she refer to herself as "black" ? She looks like she has a very small amount of "black"...She looks highly mixed race and is a beautiful woman. Its just wierd that the "black" part is the only part of her that she would cling to. Makes the whole idea that it is tough to be black because of racism and oppression hard to believe when many people like her that are clearly in a position to down-play or even dodge that part of themselves because the do not look black,...are going out of their way to wave that flag and cling to it.
