Margot comes to me as a well mannered, soft spoken, lovable and a quiet girl. Just like Anne, Margot too was writing a diary, but unfortunately, that diary was never found from the annex. Not much is known about Margot.But I like her. RIP Dear Margot.

Miep Gies said Margot kept her diary locked in a draw, although she didn't where, while Anne's was kept in a brief case. Anne's diary (or rather diaries) was scattered on the floor by the Gestopo looking for valuables. After they were taken from the house, Miep gathered up the dairies, photo albums and other important documents she could find. The helpers never found Margot's diary. Theory is that it ended up getting thrown out when the Gestopo emptied the house and sold all the furniture. I actually wonder if it's still out there somewhere waiting to be found. Never know. A friend of Margot's said faint must have intervened because Margot was so private and would never have wanted her private thoughts exposed to the world.

​@@joannacrickenberger7627 A part of me believe maybe the diary was found and only few ppl know about it. Otto only publish Anne's dairy bc he knew that what Anne would have wanted. She was planning on writing a book of her life in secret Annex was the war was over. If Anne show no interset on being a writer and was private person, the diary wouldnt be publish. Margot was very private person, she probably wouldnt want ppl to read her diary or her private thoughts even after her death. Otto knows that. If the diary was found and Otto told the truth by saying yes I do have diary but Im not going to publish it bc Margot wouldnt wanted that. Ppl arent gonna accept that, he would have gotten harass to no end or ppl would have try to steal it. Lying about it is easier, bc if it's not found then their nothing u can do

Thank you for assembling this video. It included a number of photos of Margot I had never seen before, even in the Anne Frank house. She deserves more of a remembrance than she generally receives. How I wish her own diary could have been found.

I can't recall where I read this, but apparently not even Otto Frank could confirm it. We only know because Anne mentions it in her diary. I really wish that Margot's diary had survived. I like both girls, but Margot's personality is definitely more like my own :D

Such a profound comment to conclude this beautiful tribute to Margot: "It's a real shame that they never found the diary that Margot kept . . . " How fortunate we all are the film makers were able to contact the various, surviving participants with recollections -- words more valuable than gold. The tasteful music is an added bonus to this film. While I've read "bits and pieces," "now and then," "here and there," early Sept. 2021 I FINALLY read, over three days, all 335 pages of "The Diary of a Young Girl, ANNE FRANK," 'The Definitive Edition' from Bantam, 1997. I treasure the experience -- at 68 -- while sadly putting into perspective that I'm more than a half century older than the girls' lives were snuffed out, cut short by decades, when they were betrayed and murdered. Photographs: despite the Franks moving from Germany to the Netherlands and then being slaughtered in the Holocaust (except for father Otto's miraculous survival at Auschwitz) that numerous family photos have somehow survived. So sweet to hear about Margot. I think she must have been a charming, gentle girl. I probably would have preferred Margot over Anne, because I like to be around quieter people now Im older. But there stories are so interesting. Such terrible atrocities that happened to the Jewish people. I know there were so many good people and great stories we do learn from them, and yet, I wish we knew more.

The way people talk about Margot I can relate to her personality and I think a lot of older sisters could relate . My younger sister is more like Anne personality and loves the attention while I’m more introverted , love history , a bit more serious/mature , quiet ,soft spoken , trying to keep the peace , calming down my little sister . I mean this the most respectful way ever I just simply relate to her type of personality and a lot of things they spoke about her that relate to personality .

I've been watching "A Small Light" a drama series about Miep and Jan Gies and of course Margot is in it aswell, she's played by this actress called Ashley Brooke and the resemblance between Margot and Ashley is unbelievable they could be twins! Ashley was awesome and got the character spot on. I was born on 16th February like Margot and I am proud of sharing my birthday with her. May she and all the other victims of the Holocaust rest in peace 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱 xxx

Maybe she was a very private person and hid her diary so it may be lost. Maybe she wouldn’t have wanted the attention on herself. But, it would be very interesting to read her perspective.

I remember that as a kid I was so absorbed with Frank family story and one night I had this dream where I wandered into the already abandoned annex and somewhere I picked up the Margot diary. I was so happy I can share it to the world and bring Margot point of view to the public but then I woken up. I remember being so disappointed and sad it was just a dream. I really wonder what happened to it.

This such a beautiful tribute to the other Frank daughter. Margot no doubt kept her mother sane as Anne was like a little tornado. I love hearing the Dutch voice overs since I can undstand it. Both my parents were Dutch Holocaust survivors with their own miracaulous stories of survival. The Frank sisters had each other at the end in Bergen Belsen. They died only weeks before their camp was liberated. God bless them both.

The history learn us: Everybody is valuable in the same sense. So I think to talk about which of the sisters was more valuable was not really thought about. But I agree: Margot take not a lot of space in the discussion. But nobody is forgotten. Not a single child. The Nazis could not succeed.

I watched the original interview from where that sound clip was taken. That friend of Margot was very disparaging of Anne so I was not surprised when she said she was less valuable than her sister. She also said she found Anne to be annoying and always complaining. Some people never let go of bad blood for whatever reason, unfortunately.

I think two things could’ve happened to Margot’s diary 1.during the invasion the diary may have been seized to be used as evidence and later destroyed or lost. 2.meip may have found it but her and Otto may have decided to keep that a secret,remember Anne wanted to be an author. Margot wanted to be a nurse and may not have had wanted her dairy to be published. It may still be with any remaining family members of the franks distant or not since buddy’s death. I do agree Margot shouldn’t be just known as Anne franks sister but as her own person as well. Maybe name a hospital in her name or make her an honorary nurse or something in the home town they lived in?

I really hate how she mentioned that Margot was a more valuable person. She was well known bc of Anne's diary. I dont think in Holocaust. There was no victim or survival who was more valuable. Also even if they did found Margot dairy. I dont think it would be publish. Otto publish Anne's diary bc he knew that what she would have wanted. She wanted to live on even in her writing. She dream of being a writer and when getting out of hiding she would write about her life in the secret annex use her diary as a reference. She even change the names of ppl she live with so they wouldn't get embarrassed if the book was publish. If Anne had no interest of being a writer and was very private person. Otto would have never publish the diary and only close friends and family would have read it. Maybe Margot's diary is found but Otto lie so he wouldnt get harassed to publish it. He knew Margot wouldnt wanted it to be publish
