Behind this wonderful playing I hear in the spirit an earlier, unrecorded pianist: Rosalia Pasternak, mother of Boris Pasternak;, she was often playing this (in a different arrangement perhaps) in the house in Boris' childhood and youth. A further very moving dimension to this wonderful music.

I know this piece pretty well and do not hear any added harmonies. Please be kind enough to specify the timing where you hear it so that I may compare it with the score.

@@williamshakespeare1775 They are probably referring to 13:16 and the follow dramatic fugal passages. Some fumbles here and there, she seems to have gotten slightly rattled and for whatever reason, omits the final statement of the beginning theme that occurs right before the end. Nonetheless(!!) a great pianist, sensitive musical playing and it bears repeating, live performances are mostly not as antiseptic as studio recordings but they can convey a sense of immediacy and expression sometimes lacking in the recording studio. :)

I really enjoyed this beautiful live performance! Regarding the comment on the fugue, I don't know if she was playing as written in the transcription or something happened. But does it matter? If you want to listen to a 2-hand version which was close to the original version, take a listening of kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4C7mqGqotiYY5I
