Well when she shoves she is thinking she has at least 12 or maybe 15 outs, if garrett happens to have 88, 99, or 1010 so she still has HUGE equity if garrett calls so I don't think she cares either way.

Love how she shows the bluff and still gets a fist bump. Most players egos are so fragile that they’d tilt and be out for blood but Garrett always seems to be having fun regardless of the outcome.

The old "All-in" and then instantly look away (or start doing something else, like eating) because you're subconsciously nervous and looking away reduces stress. "Tells" don't really exist, but that was a pretty big feigned strength tell ("Oh, I don't even really care about this hand where I just jammed $10k with a flush draw, in fact I care so little I'm gonna eat a snack and refuse to look in the direction of my opponent, the best player at the table, while he decides what to do now"). Still a rough call with Garrett's kinda trash hand though.

Question, that 2nd hand with Maria and Garrett, does Maria ever have a set there on the flop? Or is it just a flush draw or over pair?
@pabl1to334 жыл бұрын
actually she’s not representing anything. Against Garrett as the pf aggressor you would always check with nutted hands in that spot.. he’s always cbeting. Even a FD she would check to not get raised of her hand. Her ego took over and she thought she must win that hand to take a stance against one of the best. Not much thinking going on. Would love to know what she wouldve done on a blank turn... check fold?
@KamratKamala4 жыл бұрын
@@pabl1to33 Why on earth does the preflop handstregth decide that she should check post flop? What if her range hits a certain flop better than his?
@pabl1to334 жыл бұрын
Stefan Löfven Because thats the nature of the game? Also the flop does not really favour her range, if anything it does favor his range. She might have all sets, but again I dont think she would play it this way.. GA 3bet range should be quite wide, so leading a set doesnt make sense. check raising flop and then jamming turn is a much more credible play..
@KamratKamala4 жыл бұрын
@@pabl1to33 If you have a nuts advantage the opponent will check often. And if opponent will check often you sometimes want to lead. You have to understand that there is not only range-advantage to consider. But also nut-advantage.

Lucky turn run out but good bluff. Garrett is in a mathematically tough spot because he could be drawing really slim if she has a king or a flush. And he isn't doing great against flush draws.
@pabl1to334 жыл бұрын
What K does she have in this spot? KQhh and KJhh? Very few combos, and she most certainly would not play a FD leading into the goat after a 3bet preflop. Check/call much more likely

@@pabl1to33 Good point on Kx, although it's possible she has a flush. Doing rough math, she needs to be (semi) bluffing over 40% of the time for Garret to call. I think she is, albeit slightly.

tough decision for Garrett. She'll often have a made flush in her range, something like QhJh, to which he's drawing dead, she can a draw, to which he's ahead but still loses 20-25% of the time, she can have a few set combos and he's far behind those as well. Against a tighter player I think this is a fold. But I agree with other comments that the looking away disinterested acting is usually a sign of weakness.
@asterix874 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I've personally found exaggerated signs of disinterest to be tells of strength, like bad acting to make it look like you're not interested in the hand.

You think she’s really leading a FD or a set in that spot against GA? GA is known to be aggressive, let him cbet in a 3bet pot... And why risk getting raised off your flush draw? Pretty sure she x/c her FD’s in that spot..

So garret is way ahead with 73 percent favorite and you’re telling me it’s not worth the risk? Why the fuck do you play poker if you don’t take risks, and most importantly this isn’t a risk for garret... he’s ahead wtf. So you’re telling me if you get pocket aces or pocket kings you’re just gonna fold because its not worth the risk, someone else might have 27 off suit with 12 percent equity. Dafaq are you saying bro 😂
@raimundasm47114 жыл бұрын
I agree. He will win 3 times out of 4. I would 'risk' all day long with those odds.
@sonofsarek4 жыл бұрын
Hank Wu NO, it’s not worth it. 1) 27% chance of losing and that will hurt his betting power in future pots. It’s not just about 1 hand, it’s about the game. 2) if he calls and then gets behind, he will set himself up to lose even more money. The percentages are just a point in time - they can’t count for downstream costs/benefits.
@hankwu51334 жыл бұрын
