i tested positive for hpv when i was 23. got the colposcopy done, and my doctor at the time (and myself) had no idea i was very newly pregnant when i had it done. that was 17 years ago. nothing has ever affected me from that positive result. my paps come back normal now.

I had this happen with my son. I was so scared! It's in my family history as well and it really made it hard to be calm. This was 10 years ago now and I'm currently pregnant, due in May. As terrified as I was I'm glad that everything happened the way it did because it really does make you more thankful for the good things in life and for having healthy happy babies. I would like to add that I haven't had an abnormal pap since, and I also haven't had a positive hpv test since. I'm on baby number 4 and only had it happen once. Well done for speaking out! HPV is super common and so much better to know than not know. I had abnormal Pap smears too when I was your age. Ultimately I needed a hysterectomy for other reasons but they took my cervix along with my uterus so problem solved for me. Most people don’t need radical surgery for this. Thanks for addressing the stigma and being so honest with your audience.

I was diagnosed with HPV when I was 18 years old. I went years and through 2 pregnancies with the HPV seemingly gone away. After I had my last baby, it came back with cancer cells at the age of 28. I had a total hysterectomy (finally, I wanted it for so long) at 28. My case was rare and preventative and I was ready to do it. HPV is soooo common so thank you for spreading awareness.

October sucked so bad, it was one thing after the other, but I finally got good news beginning of December. I think this will help so many women who have been made to feel ashamed or scared about having HPV(It’s definitely ok with feel scared but no one should HAVE to feel that way due to misinformation). I have seen so many instances of shame associated with hpv and it’s so horrible and just fed by straight up incorrect information and presumptions. Breathe momma. Been there its just something. I had everything you said done. I had mine done 20 yrs ago in the early stages of this "new thing". Breathe, dont let it stress you please. I am 54, I was told I would never have children because mine was envasice and attacked my cervix yet today I have a 17 yr old son, greatest gift from god. Now I am through menopause, always had abnormal paps and now I am good always got normal after procedures. I did though had my son get the vaccine because I was a carrier. Up to you. After I had my last baby, I went in for a pap and had HPV. I had only had normal paps before. My doctor told me it was probably dormant, but being pregnant made it "show up." They did the colposcopy and it wasn't cancerous or anything. After a year, they did another pap and it resolved on its own and the pap was normal. Just want you to know that this isn't always bad or scary. I'm praying for you!

Gloria I know it seems scary I went thru it too girl and I worked at an obgyn it's super normal ALSO when I got the colpo done it came back negative. It's also very common to come back false positives so it could be nothing. Love ur content and love watching ur journey ❤

I tested positive for HPV after not being with anyone for 7 years and have 3 previous clear paps. Then the next one it was cleared. Don’t panic. You will be ok! You and your wonderful family will be ok.

Congratulations on your sweet baby girl!! I had an abnormal pap with precancerous cells about 23 years ago. I went through the cone biopsy. Then had a culposcopy as well to get the remainder of the cells. All has been well since then. You’ve got this momma! You’re gonna do great. 🖤

I’m so sorry you are going through this, let alone when you’re pregnant. It is so strange, a lot of the time your video content has come at similar times in my life as I am facing the same issue (but not pregnant). I’ve been extremely depressed and I’m at a point in my life where I know the things that will help me but I’m just not doing them. The lack of sun right now isn’t helping either. I know I’m intelligent. I know I’m compassionate. I know I’m beautiful. I know I’m worthy of all the best things in life but most days I’m just like “so what” Thank you so much for putting a lot of my fears into words and making me feel like I’m not alone. I think I’ve been really trying to pass off all my anxieties on the holiday rush when this was the real issue that I’ve been stewing over in the back of my mind the whole time. I didn’t want to let it in but, also having a prominent family history of uterine cancer, I’m absolutely terrified and ignoring it has gotten me to a dark place. I feel like now I know my core fear I can start to processes the correlating anxieties and dig myself out of this hole. I tested positive for HPV at my 6 week check up. I got a biopsy and it same back as the lowest grade possible, at my follow up 2 weeks later everything had healed its self and I tested negative.

Hey babes! My mom was diagnosed with cervical cancer while she was pregnant with me 25 years ago! The pregnancy itself was a little more difficult and required more than a normal pregnancy, but we both are still here and doing amazing! Last year I had an abnormal pap and I immediately spiraled too, It’s scary. After the colposcopy things were mostly normal. Now I just really listen to my body and pay attention to the small changes. Make sure you do your paps yearly so you can make sure nothing changes. Thank you for being so vulnerable for the rest of us. It truly shows that we aren’t alone in these scary things! I've been there with the abnormal test and the colposcopy, not the pregnant part (which I get can def add to the scary). I was in my 20's when I got that call. Felt like I couldn't breathe until everything was over. All came out to be ok in the end. I just make sure to get my paps and have my regular appointments to keep an eye on things. Yes, girl, I had it when I was pregnant with my 2md and freaked out but for the most part it’s self resolved and sometimes leads to ovarian cysts which I do have now but ur right. It’s not so,e nasty std or cancer. Try to not stress yet 💜 ur in good hands amen 🙏 remember that, mammas ❤🎉

I had been there with the abnormal pap, got colposcopy, and year later went back and had normal pap and had my baby with no issue since. It is something that will linger on the brain, but if you doctors say not to worry, try your best not to. Glad baby is doing great!

Big sis! Thank you so much for being vulnerable and open with us. It was like 27-28 years ago that I was diagnosed with HPV and I was a mess. It was totally catastrophized and I was shamed - BY THE DOCTOR. It was awful, but I'm still here and like you it was a low strain so it took about 1.5 years before I got a clear pap. I only had another abnormal pap 1-2 more times since then, but think about it like you think about your skin when you're pregnant. Like your skin being hella sensitive, it sounds like your flower is too. Keep taking care of it like you have been and work with it, not against it. There may be times over the rest of your life where the HPV will get kicked up and you'll get another abnormal pap, but it's way less likely that will happen the more you take good care of your flower. ALSO, may I remind you that they now have HPV vaccines. We won't qualify, but the kids will - all of them. It will protect Autumn and Maverick against HPV and a host of cancers and it will prevent Jameson from getting it and spreading it. I had my son get it as soon as he was eligible, which at the time was 11, but I have heard that it's a little earlier now. He had no issues other than he just doesn't like shots. If you have questions or just need to talk to someone who has been there please feel free to reach out to me. I'm always glad to help. Oh and I have so much to say about the postpartum too, but I've already written a book here. Just know I appreciate all the sharing. Things like the depression and the HPV are things so many people will have experience with in their lives; because we don't talk about it many of us feel alone and all that does is compound things. You're doing great things and I appreciate you for it.

There is a huge stigma with HPV. I had all the shots and still got it. Had a colposcopy and biopsy when I was 21 and I’m 33 now, I’ve been normal ever since. Majority of us woman have it and it is NOT the genital wart kind. I also had a tumor removed out of my right breast a few years later. Both benign, thank god. Especially because you are married and have an honest relationship, you will be just fine. Considering you are pregnant, your body is out of wack. Just trust your doctors and know that you’ll prevail! ❤

Hey my sister had a normal Pap smear had procedure due to other tests and 20 years later she is all good , don’t panic that why we get Pap smears done so we have time and treatment to stop anything bad and we now have sooo many more tests and treatments than our grandparents and mums had and it’s normal during pregnancy for changes in uk they don’t give us them during pregnancy for that reason big hugs and soo many congratulations to you all on this baby girl xx

Vulnerability is scary, but so important in helping others not feel alone 🩷 I had an abnormal pap come back last year, got the colposcopy WEEKS later 🫠, and ended up having to get laser surgery due to high risk results. The worst part of the whole experience was waiting so long in between appointments and for my results! Make sure to relax & schedule nothing for a day or two time after the biopsy procedure! So I am also 30, and I am just now adjusting to blood work. Before, I would have BAD SHAKING anxiety attacks when they put the rubber band on. Now I am calm and better. Turns out when you gotta get blood drawn borderline weekly for fertility testing, you adjust. Also agree. Doctors make a difference. I still can't look though. Praying for good news for the PAP. I have a coworker who is in her 40s and positive, but she said she is fine. It's monitored. She does have to disclose to partners, but she said she feels fine. Praying things go well for you though. You are strong! And the depression... I feel that. 13 weeks and already yes. Now I have generalized depression and anxiety, so I don't know if it's that or pregnancy... But yeah. Some days I just struggle. It's good to know I'm not alone in this journey. My mom isn't in my life due to toxic situations. You are such a blessing to talk to and help me through pregnancy as you are also a mom. Thank you for everything!

I’m glad you are talking about HPV. It is something that is sooooo common. The shot they came out for it missed our generation. I found out I had HPV after my 7 year relationship ended. And I had only been with one partner. I had abnormal pre cancerous cells. I had the biopsy and treatment and had to get paps more frequently. But since then I’ve been completely fine. All normal paps and nothing to worry about. That was 14 years ago. So all will be well Mama! ❤

Huge hugs. I hope I can give you some comfort. While my mom was pregnant with me, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Everybody in her life was pushing for an abortion so they can start treatment. Well I am now 41 so obviously she didn’t do that. I also have a little sister. I think my sister was maybe two or three is when my mom had a partial hysterectomy. My sister three years younger than me so it was a watch and see deal thing for about six years. I think they did the scrapings and what not. I don’t know all the details. I just know I was still in her womb when diagnosed. She didn’t have to do any other treatments like radiation or chemo and she’s now in her 70s. treatment and everything was much different in the 80s, they didn’t do ultrasounds while she was pregnant with us. There are 4 of us. You aren’t alone. HPV is very common. Most times it’s not harmful. Congrats on the baby girl. You have an extra glow about you when you are pregnant. It’s really adorable.

Hi Maria! I hope you see this. I wanted to let you know that the exact same situation happened to me as well, I was pregnant had an abnormal pap smear and my results after the biopsy did end up being cancer (hoping that's not the case for you!) luckily it was caught super early and they removed the tissue after my son was born. No chemo or anything was needed it was an outpatient surgery with a few additional pap smears for a year to monitor, I've been fine ever since. The reason I felt compelled to share this story is to hopefully let you know that everything is going to be okay! Yes it is scary I was the exact same way in a panic and pregnant but it will be okay! 💕

I got my first abnormal pap about 4 years ago and even accused my husband of cheating because they have always made it seem like it was STD but then talked to my doctor and she talked about it being stressed induced 😮! It’s very scary though I spiraled myself and when you do get the colposcopic make sure you don’t drive yourself because they say it’s not painful but it is. I’m sending you hugs and good vibes ❤️

I was 19 going on 20. I already had two baby girls. I found out i had hpv and had pre cancerous cells. I had to have a few procedures done. The worst part was i just met my husband at that time, and i was so scared to tell him. I told him over the phone because we lived an hour from each other. I soon as i told him the phone hung up. I started crying, thinking he didn't want to be with me. He called me back, saying the call dropped. It was 2004 calls dropped constantly. I'm now 40 in 2017 i had to have a hysterectomy because i had a lot of fibroids. I had to wear pullups because my periods were so heavy.

Girl, I had an abnormal pap with yearly checks like 4 years ago. After 3 years in a row of abnormal paps they did the colposcopy. It showed changes and they said we could either cut around the whole area that showed changes or do a hysterectomy. Since we were for sure done having babies, we decided on the hysterectomy (I also have PMDD and endometriosis, so other issues to consider) to be more certain nothing else happened. I tell you this not to worry you, but to tell you mine went for almost 4 years before they even did a colposcopy. The colposcopy didn't even show a lot after 4 years! I know it's scary, I freaked out a million times over the course of those years, but it was all ok. Your doctors know what they're doing, and if they aren't very concerned, neither should you be. Ask for some sort of pain control when you get your colposcopy girl! They don't usually just offer, but they can do things to make it more comfortable.

I know exactly what you’re going through. I’ve been high risk for cervical cancer because of HPV even after having the shot to prevent HPV.. also my genes don’t help either. I am about to have a partial hysterectomy because of it. Sending love and prayers and positive vibes!!

My family has a history of uterine cancer and my whole life i have had one abnormal pap. They gave me cryotherapy and ive been good since. I am good about all my women type visits bc of my history but so far so good❤️

Hpv is scary I. I get it. My Pap smear has been normal for a little over a year now. I was told in 2020 that I had an abnormal Pam smear the ran some more tests and told me that it was hpv. I felt disgusted with myself I felt dirty. I thought for a very long time that no one was going to love me since I have an std. I am happy that you have Brandon with you he will show you that everything is okay. I eventually found my partner he is so great I was absolutely terrified when I had to tell him I had hpv but he was very supportive and never judged me.

Whats confusing about hpv is can pop up on your pap then the next time you get it done, it shows negative. It can be scary and i totally get your emotions.
