Being Mexican (from Hidalgo), coming from a family that follows & keeps alive the Charro & all Mexican traditions....growing up with Mariachi music and real Mariachi bands playing at my parents house very often......I can say this is FANTASTIC!!!!! Love it because they are great, they do it with passion and because this is the way USA & MEX should embrace one another.

@JohnBelley866 жыл бұрын
If anyone is offended they should reflect on why because those were 3 beautiful songs that fit into the genre, if you need to be mexican to play Mariachi music then you need to be black to sing funk or rap, and you need to... do I need to continue? no this is 2018, fuck that bullshit. If the beatles could go to India and come back playing the Djent this should not be a problem.

People have to find a way to squirt their piss and vinegar, don't they? This is a band of mostly L.A. guys - singer is from Pico-freaking-Rivera! -- who were inspired by what they heard, and took a shot at creating their own version of it. It's FANTASTICO! and it's in English so it's more accessible for the masses, who may even come to appreciate mariachi music in a broader sense. I grew up on Mariachi music blasting in my house, and at family events. I've seen these guys 6 times and each time they blow me away. They are amazing musicians and the songs are beautiful! -- you think David Hidalgo (Los Lobos frontman) may know a think or two about Mexican music? He played on some of their songs, and his son Vicente is in the band! The band admits: "We're not a traditional mariachi band, and that's not what we set out to be. We just want to sound like ourselves, playing this music that we love." So how about the haters go hate on something else, or better yet, just enjoy the damn music! it's freaking awesome!

Not only do they sound different, n0t like mariachis-- but mariachis sing in Spanish. These guys are very creative and took our traditional music/sound to develop[ a new one that is fantastic.

Traditional mariachi plays Son music (son tradicional), Son that's played with Jaranas is only 1 of 7 styles of Son in México. The music can be picked too, but they use the traditional "requinto" guitar (higher pitch). Of course it's "Norteño" see the name of song, classic norteño doesn't have guitarrón it has:accordion, bajo sexto/quinto, and standing bass(tololoche). Modern norteño might have drums and also horns, saxo not trumpet. Bronx music sounds like old school, not univision/telemundo.

This isn't mariachi music. These dudes would be put to shame by real mariachi musicians. I'm not knocking it, but they resemble a genre more closely related to bands like: Cafe Tacvba or I would even venture to say, The Texas Tornadoes on some songs. vicben1 Ironically this is more commercial than Mariachi Vargas in the states especially. All I'm saying is that their shtick is from a different genre, this in no way is mariachi, you can like it and that's cool but I'm just calling these guys out as a gimmick that's all.
@vicben19 жыл бұрын
And that's that!
@jalred31469 жыл бұрын
