Yes, you're right. Roy Orbison was a legend in his day because of the same thing. He came out, stood perfectly still dressed in a suit, and just sang and the record companies couldn't believe what they were hearing! He became an instant hit and legend. The same is true of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Those two beautiful voices can sing to me all day and I'll never tire of it...and I'm into country music not R&B so that says something of their talent!!!

I'm not surprised that Mariah's voice is damaged. This legendary woman was once of the hardest working singers in the 90s. She gave us album after album and belted and belted til she strained. OMG!!!!! I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS IN OVER 20 YEARS!!!!! I was Actually In that M.S.G. Audience back in 1996 I believe. In any Case, I LITERALLY SPONTANEOUSLY BROKE OUT INTO TEARS AS SOON AS MARIAH STARTED SINGING!!!!! Just out of NOWHERE WOW!! It Is 100% Because Of The ABSOLUTE BEAUTIFULLNESS (Is That Even A Word? lol) Of Her Voice In This Performance, That Must Have Just Set Something Off Inside Me And Made Me Mist Up IMMEDIATELY and Balling Within 5 Seconds FLAT!!! It is that very slight crack, (like one gets when speaking or singing something emotional) right from the jump off in the first few notes that ABSOLUTELY DID IT FOR ME!!!!!! JUST F******* BEAUTIFUL!!!!! LAMB HERE FROM DAY ONE, IN 1990... LAMB FOR LIFE!!!!!

FACTS. But this is edited for the DVD and her voice sounds nasal and muffled, although the quality is inferior her voice in the unedited vocals is 10 times better, more powerful, clear and RESONANT, there is no comparison.

Yip not many can pull off a chuck(I think it's called that) like he did on that(the only other vocalist that did it live like this that I have seen is Luther Vandross with Whitney Houston, Dione Warwick and Stevie Wonder in that live performance of That's what freinds are for)...and if I am correct Wanya suffered from severe vocal polyps not long before this...many of Boys ll Men performances in the beginning you can actually see he is in pain but still sings his lungs out...there are many great vocalists out there but Wanya has an incredible ability to sound like Stevie Wonder in his upper register including those riffs and runs...I enjoy watching vids when he and Brian Mcknight go at it...Wanya vocally is like the male version of Whitney Houston...imagine a duet of those two in both their peaks like this here.
