Your comment could have sufficed without you assuming my understanding of music or the lack thereof. People listen to music differently, if you are capable of listening to an artiste like Mariah Carey independent of her previous works then mazel tov! I became a fan of Mariah because of her voice, an amazing instrument that soars, pivots and crescendos incomparably. So when I hear (and I do have an ear for music) what sounds like a screeching teenage girl harping on indecipherable lyrics, I have to take a step back and call it for what it is-in my opinion. There is absolutely no way that this song could grow on me.
