Mariah Carey is the songwriter, producer and main vocalist. She wrote this for her 2nd Christmas album in the early 10s. Then she rearranged the song to give them space. The reason why they all sing together don't turn into a single Grey sound is because Mariah since the early 90s learned how sound works, she knows how toggle frequencies, they are all in the same key but they are working the frequencies differently so they are all singing the same but none is invading each other's "lane". That's how Mariah layers her vocals since 1990 and that's why she is quite audible when singing with a gospel choir. There are so many talented singers belting in unison so Mariah knows that what she has to do is bring higher frequencies not saturated by anyone else so she stands out, nobody is competing for that's space. Thats why Mariahs musicianship and production skills are superb. One last thing, Mariah Carey definitely has billion dollar legs
