The way to do the wembley main event is hangman getting the win over swerve at blood and guts and insert hangman into the main event. Then danielson wins by hangman focusing on swerve

For me it boils down to: you can do Page/Strickland at the next show. You MUST do Strickland/Danielson NOW, and that is, like so many matches that involve Danielson, a DREAM MATCH.

From where it stands as of now, Danielson wins at Wimbley. Danielson will say he's pushing back his retirement until he loses the belt and he's going to defend it maybe at All Out and several times on TV between All In and Wrestle Dream. Hangman and Swerve have a match at All Out. Hangman gets his win finally. Then during the build to Wrestle Dream, which is in Tacoma, Washington, Swerve earns a title shot at Danielson and wins the title back. Swerve and Danielson have a match in their home state against each other, Danielson retires from full time and Hangman gets his win, without having to win the title.

To Tempest point about Hangman or Danielson vs Swerve at Wembley. I actually think AEW is telling a more interesting story by having Danielson go over Hangman. Hangman doesn't really care about the title...he hates Swerve, and the tournament was his way to get at Swerve. Swerve entered himself in the Blood and Guts so Hangman agrees to team with The Elite as a way to get at Swerve. Now the story can branch in 2 different directions: 1) Hangman wins the Blood and Guts match for The Elite and as a reward The Bucks add Hangman to the title match at Wembley. Then Hangman can cost Swerve the title. That way you get Danielson winning the title, and you continue the Swerve/Hangman story, and Swerve could win the title back at WrestleDream in his hometown 2) Hangman's hatred for Swerve causes The Elite to lose. The Elite turn on Hangman and you set up for Hangman vs Okada for Wembley

In regards to the one women’s match superchat, I’d say the quality is MUCH better than the quantity in this instance. One killer match and two great segments are better in my opinion than one killer match and another one thrown in. A five minute segment is way more effective than a five minute squash

Firm disagreement with Tempest. I think the best option was Danielson winning. 1) I didn't need another Hangman vs Swerve match so soon. 2) Danielson winning the title would do the lineage of that title a world of good. 3) You can make Hangman MORE interesting now. Have him cost Swerve at All In and that leads to them having a match at All Out for #1 contender that Swerve wins AGAIN. Swerve wins the title back at WrestleDream in his hometown and then Page wins the title at World's End a few months later.

Luke is wrong, Jericho isn't as much of a rating draw as he's saying. He had bad ratings multiple times in the last two months and many of his good performances are when he is in the same quarter as a hot act, notably Toni Storm, or when he's in either the 1st or the 5th quarter which are always doing well, Jericho or no Jericho.

Hangman will be involved in the Swerve/Danielson match for sure! Special Guest Referee (w/ Stipulation as Punishment - Fired if he doesnt call it fairly because of Costing The Elite at Blood and Guts (ignores team to go after Swerve) Hangman/Nigel McGuiness accidently costs Swerve the Title (chair shot misses Danielson hits Swerve) and Hangman has to call the 1-2-3 (in frustration) and leads into a Triple Threat/Fatal Four Way at All Out. Leads into Hangman Vs Swerve (Full Gear) and Danielson Vs Mc Guiness Singles Match (Wrestle Dream) - Fantasy Booking =)

I find Tempest's negativity towards the Danielson win quite stubborn tbh. He expected the storyline to go one way and doesn't like it just because another equally intriguing but less predictable option was taken. Good storytelling shouldn't always be predictable, else you risk losing your audience which feels like it can see exactly where all stories are going, which is the last thing AEW needs at the moment. Also, predictability isn't always good, case in point: MiTB and NXT Heatwave where the latter was remarkably better BECAUSE of how fresh the booking choices made were.

Leave it to Luke to just try and blame WWE when the only parties to blame are Rush and CMLL. CMLL doesn't lock their talent down and allows them to be signed right off their roster if they receive a bigger pay day. I won't even get into the Rush stuff, that's it's own thing but is literally why Rush v MJF was done on Dynamite and not at Forbidden Door.

@@fscorpion678 I agree with your reasoning and point, but WWE doesn't have a working relationship with any of those companies. Stephanie is now a WWE superstar so her working those dates with "rival" promotions isn't happening. Giulia on the other hand is finishing out dates in Japan with other promotions while being a WWE superstar because those companies don't have ties to AEW. My point is whatever, it's just how I see things. Also WWE is doing live events in Mexico this weekend and I'll bet any money that's when they're going to debut her and then she'll be on NXT this upcoming Tuesday. So while she should, could, or would, do the obligated dates, they won't work since she'll be in WWE immediately.

@@fscorpion678 like I said before, I agree. It's clear to me that WWE has a live event in Mexico of all places on 7/13 which is the same date as the CMLL show in San Jose. They're going to debut there, or at least I would. Obviously she can't do both, and since she just signed it's pretty evident that it doesn't matter to her (or WWE, however you want to spin it) that those events don't occur for her. It's honestly a perfect storm in timing for her and WWE which is why it's an outlier. If WWE wasn't going to be in Mexico, who is to say they wouldn't have let her do her events? (She was going to lose the CMLL women's title on 7/13)

What we have to remember is that they have All Out two weeks after Wembley. They have to hold some matches back so that the show has a reason to exist. If Swerve loses the belt at Wembley or wins, he can still fight Hangman at All Out.

The turn was perfect, and with Mariah's slow progression through the Toni Storm looks during her run so far, I wonder if now, just before All in, like last year is when Mariah goes full on proto timeless like we got last year. I think there is a compelling character in Mariah wanting to get rid of Toni and playing nice this whole time but I would be lying if I didn't think Mariah wanting to replace her sounds very interesting.

Osprey, Okada, and Mone, these are supposed to be the Big Game changers and yet they have lost tv ratings an even their segments on KZbin don't do particularly well. Instead it's Toni and Mariah who people have latched onto once again proving that Storytelling is what sells the product. Hopefully Tony sees this and we can move away from booking for the sickos and instead get back to booking for pro wrestling fans.

As a paying customer, I'm very happy Bryan Danielson is in the main storyline for All In. He's had a phenomenal year, hell a phenomenal run since 2021, he deserves this spot. Hangman/Swerve was good but we've already seen it what, 2 times? 3 times? I feared they would waste Bryan on an undercard match with Nigel, thank god they didn't. I also like the added hurdle for Hangman, it'd be boring if he just came back and did the predictable thing, life isn't like that
