And before that debut, filming for a movie usually takes about one to two years (sometimes longer) from the start of the filming until the wrap up of a movie. So that puts the time line about 1989/1990...however; Whitney was on a contractual obligatory one year tour before film could start. Warner Bros. told Kevin Costner to find someone else to fill the role. According to Kevin Costner at Whitney's funeral...Warner Bros wanted an experienced white female actress to play the leading female role. Kevin told the movie studio "Absolutely NOT... if we have to wait on her to finish the tour..that's what we're going to have to do...PERIOD!!!"...NOW you know if it was just lust ain't no way in hell's fire that Kevin Costner was going to mess up his money and his reputation on just lust for no woman...let alone a Black woman in the 90s. When a man loves a woman and is in love with her... there's nothing that he won't do for her...he'll move mountains and make time stand still... just like Kevin did for Whitney...He made those movie executives at Warner Bros. stand still and wait for the woman that he loved...Now lust lasts only a moment...but love lasts forever!!!... and even after over 30 years after The Bodyguard...He STILL loves HER!!!

Actually when you think about it, out of all the interracial movies you see this one tops them all its different none of them comes close ,All the other films mention race and this is why i love the Bodyguard because there is no mention of it which the lovely Mr Costner make sure of producers director please take note.

There whole love scene after she shined the sword in his face...he kiss her...then they only showed him holding her..and nothing else.... totally killed the buildup to their love scene... They cut the hot scene out... Bobby said no! he also did not want Kevin to tongue her...But he kinda indicated he did, but we didn't see it.....He said he kissed her for America, and he kissed her for himself ,. for himself , tongue was involved.

I think Kevin had a crush on her, however I dont think Whitney would of gave him a chance even if she was single. At the time Whitney was really hurt with the black community saying she wasnt black enough, the black community even called her WHI-TEY Houston and thats part of the reason she was drawn to Bobby to prove her blackness. Knowing this if she would of dated Kevin Costner the name calling will get worse, and I guess at the time that will be too much for her to handle
